“Caister No Waster”

Written on: 19/10/2012 by adeash1999

Absolutely Fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. Caravan was fantastic. Funstars worked endlessly to Entertain, "They were FANTASTIC". Everywhere was spotlessly clean and well maintained. 200 Mile to get there BUT will be returning. The new show bar was amazing and Immaculate. Congratulations to all at Haven Caister Sands, you were a credit. 11 out of 10. Highly Recommended. Best Wishes Ade Stain Walsall (read more)

This was the worst haven park i have been to and i have been to 5,we booked the 3 bedroom delux caravan in July, the beds were made up but the bedding was damp, the fridge was ok but the freezer compartment did not work, the cooker was rubbish it took to long to cook anything and the pans were rubbish. The entertainment was a bit of ok but not enough of it,they repeated the entertainment and quizes twice so that was really annoying.I have 2 teenagers and apart from 1 hour a day teen club there... “Our haven holiday”

Written on: 19/05/2012 by MandiePrior (1 review written)

We spent a week at Caister in May 2012 and loved it so much we are planning to go back in a few months. The funstars are amazing, especially Wayne, Stuart, Hannah and Joe. We actually didnt even want to come home, we arrived home yesterday and are still wishing we were still there. Our holiday was FANTASTIC and it was the funstars that made it so brilliant, they do an amazing job and we were sad to say goodbye to them. There was so much to do we didnt even need to leave the site in the week. (read more)

We have stayed at Caister Haven a few times, enjoyed each stay. If we had any problems this was put right straight away by the staff. Found the soft play area great for the kids, outdoor activities great for kids, situated right on the beach, site has swimming pool, pub, restaurants etc All the activities we chose during our stay did not incur further charges, I'm sure there were activities that were chargeable but we found enough to do to avoid this. We stayed at Caister for a long weekend: me, my husband and my nearly-four-yr-old. Although we had a wonderful time, there are a few factors which did not meet our expectations. You could not fault the cleanliness of the caravan, but this did not make up for the 20 minute walk to the entertainment complex of an evening. This was especially hard at 9pm with a very tired toddler! When we did reach 'Neptunes Palace', we were faced with 100 degrees heat, and music so loud that our ears almost... (read more)

I found this review very helpful because... we had a similar experience when we stayed in May 2010. Why are there caravans so far off the site, with a gate that is locked late evening. I believe we should have been offered a choice of site, there will be people who prefer to be so isolated. We had booked in January so there was plenty of time to get our booking right.
<br/>The caravan was clean so no faults there.

Just got back from 2 weeks caister Haven.

Weve been going to this site for 12 years and have slowly watched the decline in this once great holiday park.

Good points:
Lovely well maintained caravan
Close to beach
Staff polite and helpfull
Good bus service into town

Bad points
Beach filthy with dog poo, used nappies and general rubbish
Lack of amenities at far end near beach, bbq closed, shop closed, carasel club closed,Monte carlo amusements closed.

The seagull club is still open but the beer... (read more)

Enjoyed a fantastic week at Caister with the family. Wouldnt say the drinks are that cheap but if you go for a 4 pint pitcher its better value. Plenty to do on site and its very close to a nice enough beach. The caravan we stayed in was ok but we didnt find it was very clean and the lack of a hoover wasnt the best especially staying with kids! All in all it was fair enough value and i would reccomend it to families. (read more)

Everything about this site was magic. The caravan was very clean, the staff very helpful and friendly and the proximinity to the beach outstanding!

There was a lot for the kids to do, playgrounds, new activities to try, a lovely clean pool, and a holiday club to look forward to every morning.

The park was very close to the town centre, so a short drive to the near-by Sea Life Centre was no problem at all.

All round, a fun and relaxing break on a budget.

We spent the half term holiday at Haven's Caister Park. The first time I'd been to a Haven Park, and also the firt time visiting Great Yarmouth. We booked a standard caravan, Mon - Fri for under £200, so we certainly didn't expect luxury. The caravan was better than I expected, especially after reading some reviews here. Will not return

We got a 'cheap' break by collecting tokens through The Sun newspaper - bought the paper especially. On top of the £60 to book, we were charged £30 for power!!!!, £30 for leisure passes and an additional £12 for linen hire (we could have taken our own I suppose).

Once there, the superior caravan felt damp - I suppose it was October/November. The bathroom was very small and could have done with a decent clean but the rest of the van was relatively clean.

The beach is excellent and the site is well laid out. We went in October half term. Our Haven Holidays caravan was excellent (but we did pick the high standard one). However the cramped changing room for the pool was dirty and not heated. It was freezing in there! It also had limited opening hours and shut at lunch time. Having been coming to Caister since 1990s its always a nice well run site. However Bourne leisure need to invest in bringing the place up to Standard. Neptunes is a fantastic club with good acoustics, but all the lighting and sound system need updating. Bourne leisure should try marketing the place as a venue for Groups and perhaps themed weekends outside the main season. What was once a Flagship of the Haven (Rank) Brand and previously Ladbrokes.
