We have just returned from a week in Weymouth Bay Holiday Park. It was fabulous. We had no trouble finding it using Satnav. First impressions of the Haven were good as you swing into site. Parking close to reception but be aware that at scheduled times for checking in, it can get a little busy. On checking in, staff were friendly and very helpful. We were allocated a caravan on Hillview, which was not too close to the main complex, so didn't get all the late night noise. Caravan was clean... (read more)

We hired a lovely caravan from a very helpful lady. We would definately recommend, and book again and have done so already. The park was great for our little ones and we were far enough away from the main complex that we couldn't hear anything. The caravan was great for the kids as there was plenty of room - no squeezing between the beds and the walls etc. Price was good and far cheaper than Haven. We were also able to park our car right next to the caravan which was great. We had to use... (read more)

We have just got back after a week at weymouth bay,we really enjoyed our time in weymouth but would next time stay in a hotel near the beach. Our caravan was fantastic, it was a prestige and certainly lived up to its standards. Our beds were comfortable, the kitchen was quite big, the living room was great apart from having no stalls to sit at the table and eat with which we did complain about but got no stalls and a brillant television that was flat screen, the bathroom was spotless and... Stayed in Weymouth Bay in August, and had an excellent time. As a 4* park, everything was as we expected, clean & tiday and staff were extremely helpfull. We have been here a few times and have never been disapointed. Lots of plans in place for next year, including updating (an already excellent) outside pool..Close proximity to the beach, nice and quiet location and we will be returning again. After having spent a few days here, I can only assume all the positive reviews to have been written by Haven Management.
The place is an absolute dump, money-making machine run in the most cynical fashion, to overstimulate kids to pester their parents throwing money away at gambling machines, pony rides, go karts, ice creams the list is endless.
The camp itself is poorly laid out, with no proper parking spaces for a lot of the caravans.
If you consider yourself a semi-civil human being,...

Considering the cost, we felt that very little of our money was being put back into the park. We went in a family group of 46 with 8 caravans so I feel can give a general overview. All the Caravans were shabby, dirty and had seen better days. The appliances varied, some had microwaves, and some had toasters but there was noting uniform. I think the park itself could do with a lick of paint here and there, but I can't fault any of the ground level staff on the park. I am sure the constant caravan sell, sell, sell is the same as other Haven parks but I found this was really in our face. I would advise anyone wanting to book a Haven holiday to book with a private caravan owner instead of booking direct, not only do you know where you will be staying the prices tend to be a little cheaper than Haven direct & the cleanliness is always better! I wouldn't book any other way now. Just type your choice into google & see the choice you have, certainly takes all the guesswork out of booking!! :0)

The integration system of caravans at Weymouth Bay Haven Holiday Park means you can pay far more for a gold caravan, but be in the worst location in the park because they feel they should not have any class discrimination. So Joe Bloggs paying next to nothing for the most basic caravan will have the lst laugh when he finds he in the top position on site.

On the whole we had a great August week at Weymouth Bay Haven Holiday Park. The caravan was excellent, and we used every facility there; including the launderette which was all modern. The food and the staff in the restaurant were great, as was the size of the meals.
Weymouth itself is a 5 minute drive, but I would recommend the Park and Ride from the Sealife Centre, as finding a parking space in town was a pain.

hi, ive just booked a holiday for april 2006 to go to weymouth bay with haven. i have been to weymouth many of times but spent time on the esplanade with the beach right across from us. (literally) I am going with my nan and grandad and my fiancee and its my nans 89th birthday while we are there. i have never been to weymouth bay were we are staying but it sounds lovley i was wondering if you could advise me as in what things are close for 17 - 18 year olds and for my grandparents to. and how far is the beach really. thank you for your help.
Written on: 31/01/2006
hi emma ,
well plenty to do for the 17-18 year olds as the swimming pool is open, sports activities are on as well, but check what dates ! are you driving ? if so then we found it easier to park at the pay and ride situated at the side of the sea life centre (about 5 min from camp) and it runs a free bus in to weymouth every 15 -20 minutes, it was much easier to do this than try and get a parking space in weymouth. if you walked to the beach then you're probably looking at 15 minutes for you but longer for grandparents, dont forget we went in august so loads was on and evening entertainment was superb ....our 9 year old cried when we left ...hope this helps .
Some of the reviews here are saying the better class of caravans are not well situated. Would you mind telling me what class you booked and if the position was good? Many thanks.

I also note your 9 year old cried when you left. We have an 8 year old, so I guess it will be great for him?

Also, did you visit the Seaview site, and if so how far away is it from Weymouth Bay site?

Hi helen,
We actually stayed in a silver caravan, and it was to the back of the park. It took us a few minutes to get to facilities, which for us was not a problem. You can actually walk to seaview from Weymouth bay. But I will warn you, we decided to do seaview last June ... never again! Totally different to Weymouth bay, which is quite level ... Seaview was on a steep hill, which wasn't good. We opted for a gold caravan, which wasn't as good as the silver we had at Weymouth bay. If you are choosing, pick Weymouth bay, as it is much better, and staff were better. We're off to Perran Sands this year - our 7th park, so haven do give the value for money, well I think so.

Happy hols.
Karen.

We chose Sandymouth Bay with haven Holidays, because it looked lovely in the brochure. However when we arrived, I sat and cried, as there was hardly anything there. The club was small, the diner was OK, but again small. The adventure playground was more like a park, with 2 baby swings, 2 older children's swings, and a few other climbing things. Not at all what we would call an adventure playground.
The walk to the beach was awful! We had our 4 children with us on this holiday, ages 1,...

I dont know why you keep calling it Sandymouth Bay, but your complety wrong about the whole thing. We went for 7 nights and it was a fantastic holiday. The beach is a long walk but it does say in the brochure. Also the bus stop is right outside the camp! And the buses are very reliable they are every 10 mins even at 8 o clock at night!!! Dont Know why you have said all this, when its obviously not true. Also the play area was fantastic, the night entertainment is really good as well. As for the club house being small, thats wrong as well. The club house has a small snack area, a big arcade, with two mini bowling alleys in it. Then there is the main club room where the evening entertainment goes on and it is a masssive room, it easily seats 700 people with a good sized bar. For the people who enjoy a quieter night theres a smaller sized bar in the clubhouse, on the other side of the arcade with a bar, pool tables, juke box, fruit machines. You can also get food served in there which was very nice and it was all day serving.

So sorry, Im sure you are getting mixed up with somewhere else, and I am not sure why you call it Sandymouth Bay when its Weymouth Bay?
