Good Points: There is lots for children to do but this is all spoilt by the "FUNSTARS" who I thought were terrible, unfriendly, rude and miserable - are employed to entertain the children.

Bad Points: We were in 'prestige' accommodation with a priority check in of 2.30pm. We arrived at the caravan at 2.30 to find it hadn't been cleaned, so we thought lets not kick up a fuss and went to the amusements for an hour. When we arrived back to the caravan they had just started cleaning it and because it was raining we went in while they cleaned around myself, my husband and our two small children, We are very easy going people and don't like to grumble so we just put a brave face on because this is our only family holiday. However things just went from bad to worse. A huge landfill site was the over bearing view we were welcomed with every time we left the caravan with seagulls (or as I like to call them 'Flying rats') every where dropping little treasures from the landfill all over the park. I thought the swimming pool was disgustingly dirty as was the sports drome. The staff who are called "FUNSTARS" were awful in my opinion. I took our children to the live lounge for a kids club and all this entailed was 3 miserable looking members of staff throwing some hula hoops and skipping ropes on the floor and telling the children to get on with it for 30mins. We left a day early, just couldn't bear it any more.

General comments: Generally unsafe, unclean and unfriendly in my opinion. I think that maybe priority is given to the people who own caravans on the site, but while anyone would want to is beyond me. See above for details.

To me Combe Haven seemed unsafe, I thought the service could've been much better, and to me it seemed overcrowded and next to a landfill site. Arrived to find caravan did not appear to have been cleaned (rubbish and dirty linen strewn outside and no bed linen. Found a really nice cleaner who told us that it had actually been cleaned but not very well. The van was then cleaned around us while the kids played and we unpacked. All this finished by around 6. Even after cleaning the carpets and sofa ...

We had what we would describe as AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE holidaying in MEADOWBANK 238 LUXURY 2 BEDROOM 37 X 12 from Monday, June 2nd, to Friday, June 6th, 2008. We paid £110.00. Upon arriving at Combe Haven at around midday our problems started. We were told by the person who seems to own Kingsway Holiday Apartments - that as long as we phoned her on the Monday morning to check nobody else was vacating the caravan, we would have no problem in checking in early. We followed the check-in sig ...

Good for kids. Not good if you want to move your caravan to another site. Want to move your caravan to another park within the 1st seven years, you have no chance and here is why not, there is a unwritten agreement between Bourne leisure and your finance company, 'if you default on a payment haven have to buy your caravan back from your finance company at trade price' Due to this unwritten agreement that you know nothing about they will not let you move the caravan.

Lovely clean holiday park with a reasonable standard of security and amenities. Accommodation (standard plus caravan) was excellent; modern and fully equipped - home from home. Plenty to do in the area for the family if you have a car. Overall, a good value holiday

After reading some of the previous reviews we were worried about the holiday but I can honestly say we were very pleasantly surprised. Yes there is a landfill site but it is located far up on a hill and does not intrude. Our caravan (superior plus) was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Our 2 children aged 11 and 5 had a lovely time and enjoyed the kids entertainment and overall we would recommend Combe Haven.

Just thought I'd post this review. Read previous reviews and thoughts. I decided to have a drive down to see for myself (584 miles round trip) and was astonished to what I saw. The caravans looked like they were in disarray and we poorly looked after. The landfill site was noticed straight away when we arrived at the park and was a complete eyesore. >Also we would have liked to have known about the landfill site and the parks overall location.

Stayed at Combe Haven for 3 mights in March 2008. Paid a bargain online price and stayed in a 'superior plus' caravan. Caravan itself was generally clean,(mould on bedroom wall and our fridge was rusty and stank!), but FREEZING at night as no bedroom heating. Luckily our caravan was located away from the huge landfill site which is on a hill next door... The amenities were good, if overpriced burgers and pizzas are your thing, and plenty of arcades for the kids. Even though we went out of season ...

Friendly and very helpful staff, very quiet and peaceful in the caravan I stayed in, (Gold caravan in 1 Normandy court, right by the nature reserve). Well away from the noise of the late bars but within 2 min walk to the nearby Saxon bar - which is a lot smaller and quieter. Great for the young ones has this bar has a under 5's play area. The caravan I stayed in was surrounded by woodland on three sides. I found this part of Combe Haven to be a lot more quiet and tranquil. There are noisier are ...

We stayed in a Gold caravan I wondered what others must have been like felt this did not match anywhere near other Haven Gold Vans. Caravan was awful, I felt it was really dirty, I admit that after complaining they put a team in and it was cleaned. We had a 6 mths old baby and 4 yr old that we could never put on the floor. Gas cooker full of grease and none the utensils needed, I will add that these were rectified after complaint. Neighbours were inconsiderate parking making it difficult for us ...

Arrived at 12:15 to find 2 out 3 food outlets closed with an hour wait for the open one, thought uh-oh! On arrival the park itself looked a bit like somebody had put a load of caravans on a council estate waste ground. Decided to eat out as no way would the little one wait an hour at the table after being in the car for a few hours already. Came back and waited in children's showbar, now I really started to panic. Disgustingly dirty, I mean not wanting to sit on the chairs filthy and I used to b ...

Upon Arriving at Combe Haven and having to run the gauntlet of passing all the Arcade Machines to check in, I found the check-in process quite well organised and efficient. We had booked a Silver Caravan and this was clean and very well equipped and also had a brilliant shower. Top Tip - take a fan heater with you as it does get chilly overnight considering we stayed during the half-term week in October. The Children's entertainment as is the norm at all Haven's Park was very good. Now for th ...

We chose the park because it had lots for small kids to do, all the features were there as promised and open. The kids had a great time but this was possibly because it was term time and not very busy, if it was holiday time I would expect it to feel cramped. The park and facilities were all well presented and any rubbish was quickly cleaned up. The chalet had a few faults but I'd expect it at the end of season, it was clean and safe. The kids clubs were a little disappointing as they were in ...

Stayed at Haven Combe Haven on August Fri 31st 2007 (3 nights). I think this site could be a 10 out of 10 if it tried harder. Yes, some of the caravans are on a steep slope overlooking a landfill site. But ours (and many others) was on the level part of the site with a 1 minute walk to the pool and entertainment complex. It was dry, clean and tidy. I would say avoid anything below 4 star (ours was only £119). The swimming pool was advertised as heated, but it was freezing, both inside ...

We spent 3 nights at Combe Haven in a Silver caravan for only £129! Fantastic value for money, very lucky, the check in process was very quick, we got straight in and got the keys and linen within 2 minutes! Caravan was lovely and clean, very impressed. Not much to do in the day for adults, kids are better catered for but you can always lay by the pool if it is sunny and listen to music! Restaurant is nice, good choice of food. Evening entertainment is good. Just go for a bit of fun! The k ...

There was very little else to our holiday at Combe Haven Holiday Park! We stayed three nights, reported the maintenance deficiencies on day 1, and they were repaired an hour before checkout on day 4. Five visits to the restaurant (only because of the lack of an oven) with a total wait of 4 hours 50 minutes. Nothing ordered was properly cooked (either burnt completely or black on the outside while frozen inside). On returning food to the kitchen, staff told us to stop complaining.

Our caravan at Combe Haven Holiday Park was very dirty. Our baby crawled across the floor ONCE and his hands were wrapped in a variety of hair which we had to unravel. We asked for a vacuum cleaner and were greeted with "what for? We said we had dropped something to avoid a discussion about it. We vacuumed it ourselves, but still could not remove all of the hair from the carpet. (There should be at least a carpet sweeper in each one). The toilet room was carpeted and smelled like a mens urina ...

We had dead grass and stinging nettles two foot high growing up our caravan at Combe Haven holiday park. The caravan was filthy dirty, and the seating kept collapsing. The gas fire only worked on a low setting. The TV did not work when we arrived, and after it was fixed we had to endure a fuzzy picture for the duration of our stay. We did not purchase passes for the "entertainment", as we had planned to have very young children with us (thank goodness we didn't)! Having not purchased entertainme ...

The shop at the Combe Haven holiday park was the best on any site we have seen. We would not be going back, and we're glad we got it cheap as a later booking. Had we paid the full price, we would not have been happy, as everything was booked up, and only on once a week.
