“Not impressed”

Written on: 24/06/2011

Booked a 4 day break through The Sun Holiday scheme with my 2 young children and had paid extra for a 'luxury plus' caravan. On arrival we were dealt with quickly and efficiently by friendly staff but that unfortunately where the good bits ended. Our caravan was set in a large block (pine ridge) and very close together it looked quite small and very dirty on the outside the windows were absolutely filthy. Inside the cleanliness was too bad but the furniture etc were very dated and had seen... (read more)

Just returned today from Primrose Valley and had a brilliant week, booked at Platinum 2 bed caravan and ended up being given a 3 bed which was excellant throughout, was in Linkfield Court which was really close to main funworks, staff and funstars brilliant, site lovely, some things are expensive but you don't have to spend the money if you don't want too, our kids were quite happy cycling around and going to the adventure playground, kids clubs and going swimming which doesn't cost anything... just returned early from this site as i found it was nothing like i was lead to believe. We always go to sites this time of year and we expected it to be quieter than at busy times and we chose this.We booked a platinum caravan and on arrival the beds were made up with cheap nasty linen and there was only one pillow per person and these were covered in mould, there was'nt any DVD player nor towels that i had paid for .The caravan was at least a 15min walk from the entertainment complex and as... Sorry that you had a bad time - but why would two adults go to a park that is aimed at young families???

I have been to Primrose a few times and have hired a private van which was lovely but I wouldn't set foot on there if it was just my husband and I going away,

Just been was also in Eskdale like another reviewer and indeed it is far from the main events but not to far for it to be a bother. The area around Filey consists of filey beach (winner of cleanest beach 2010) and it was very clean. Scarborough which is just full of everything and anything, bridlington which is just a seaside mecca. Onsite the their are manay activities most at cost. there restuarant was good, and general clean level. (read more)

My 11 year old daughter, her friend,my father and myself recently returned from visiting Primrose Valley where we had a fantastic holiday and would definately like to go back to. We stayed in a 3 bedroom superior caravan where the rooms were clean, although you had to pay extra to get your beds made upon arrival. A small downside to the caravan was that the rooms were fairly small and it didn't have much space for our clothes. The site itself is huge and contained 4 pools, one was a big pool... (read more)

other than this we really enjoyed the holiday, the park was great lots to do ( some at an extra cost) food was good especially the pizza. shop is a Spar so the same cost as anywhere.

I was rather anxious about the accommodation and its cleanliness (having read certain reviews on here and other sites) as we only booked standard. We have just returned from a break at Primrose Valley haven park and were all very diappointed. We paid around £300 for a 3 night break. Everthing on the site was overpriced and there didn't seem to be any activities that were included in the holiday price, other than the small swimming pools which only made money on the lockers.

Great holiday at Haven Holidays, Primrose Valley, caravan modern, clean and spacious. Even though the park was busy it is so large you didn't feel crowded except at night in the Jesters entertainment room where you had to be in early to get seats at the front near the stage. Just enjoyed a great holiday at Primrose Valley with my wife and daughter.
We have been going to PV for many years, and although we still love the place we feel it has lost some of its personal touch, and become expensive in some areas ie fish and chips at five pounds ninety five, when you can go to nearby Filey and get quality for just over four pounds.
