Good Points: cheap spares as there are loads out there
    great looks
    blistering performance

    Bad Points: desirable to thieves

General comments: I've had this Suzuki GSXR600 K1 bike from it being 3 years old with 8,000 miles on it. It delivers more than it promises, the harder you ride her the better she is, 100% reliable, cheap spares, looks better than newer models, it may not be as muted & user friendly right out of the box as a CBR for a novice rider, but thats because its a raw performance machine and once you learn that to get the best from it you must commit to ride it hard in the bends (with good tyres that suit you, diablo corsa's are a favourite for the model but i found them too twitchy, much prefure the bridgestone 020) then its a real scream.............ride one, you'll never go back!!!

id just like to say guys that my Suzuki k1 gsxr 600 is the most fun iv personally ever had. yes its my first sports bike but really this nonsence that you need the big 1000 cc bikes to keep up is rubbish. if you are confident with it round corners then you will keep up with the best of them as long as you keep it revving. plus it really looks the part as well.

After riding my faithful old 1988 Kawasaki GT550 for the last 15 years, I sold it in Feb 2009 and bought a Suzuki GSXR600 K1 that had been very well kept and only had 27,000kms on the odometer. On my first test ride, I was not used to the very responsive throttle and was a bit clunky on my gear changes and it took a little bit to get used to having such good brakes, but I quickly fell in love with it and decided that very day to buy it. I have not regretted it one bit. I agree with everyone w ...

The Suzuki GSXR600 K1 is comfy, easy to ride, very forgiving, reliable, easy to maintain, looks, exhaust note [even from the standard can], can be used on both road & track without any modification, great for long distance touring, good storage capacity in tail section, a seemingly endless supply of after market goodies, huge grin after each ride.
Bad points, standard screen, feeble horn, type of bolts used to retain exhaust onto cylinder head, not able to convert speedometer from mph to to kph ...

Well i was a little dissapointed to be honest, i was expecting this 600 to rip my arms out of their sockets however after riding my nc30 the Suzuki gsxr 600 k1 seems not that much faster and also the brakes on the gsxr are not as good as my nc30 but the most upsetting thing is my nc30 outhandles my gsxr hands down. The gsxr runs very well when accelerating but hates going slow and see saws at lower speeds very annoying, all in all wish it had better tyres the pirelli super corsa tyres although n ...

Good points? Pretty much everything. Power is everywhere, good gear ratios for riding in built up areas - can be ridden in 3rd pretty much anywhere. Breathtaking acceleration -throttle is quite responsive, but could be sharper. Handling was much better than I'd expected (I use Dunlop 207s), especially given it's width, there is rarely need to shift your weight on the bike (not that I weigh a lot anyway). Smooth gearbox, reasonable engine braking, front brake seems most effective above 40mph.

Good all rounder, very comfortable. I have ridden mine for 4 hours non stop and I felt fine when I got off which is more that I can say for the R6. I will be stepping up to the 1000cc when I can afford the insurance if its anything like the 600.

Anyone having hard time to choose - don't hesitate. Go for the Suzuki GSXR600. Although I like the older version of GSXR, the new ones are definitely worth the money you spend on them.

Good responsive ride, fast enough for most and handles it well,
Update the pads and lines for better braking, reliable and economical, quick enough that you have to check yourself as the growl from the intake and roar from the pipe is addictive.
Coming back to motorcycles after 20 yrs I bought the gsxr 600, did a das course and passed my test. As a new rider I find the gsxr 600 an absolute ball. Quick, forgiving and as sport bikes go comfortable enough. This bike is my personal Prozac. Economica ...

I own a 2003 Suzuki gsxr 600 alstare edition. I am happy with every aspect of this bike. It is more than fast enough for me. Everytime I get on it, I am suprised by how fast it is. I have put 10,000 miles on it and have not had any problems with it...STILL RUNNING GREAT! I wouldn't recommend this bike to a beginning rider. It is hard to ride this thing without testing its limits. It is a lightweight bike and is great for leaning hard on corners. My friend has a 2003 CBR600RR which I have ridden ...

I bought my Suzuki GSXR600 in 2001 when it came out and never let me down. I have since put a aftermarket can on and a k and n filter plus a power commander plus carbon goodies. Great performance on twisty roads and longish hauls. This bike still has reasonable comfort for a sports bike and still looks okay after 7 years. Not to aggressive for a first bike but still it will shift if you ask it too. You wont be doing any harm upgrading to better front pads and brake hoses I did and its worthwhile ...

I find the GSXR K1 a very forgiving bike but you do have to keep the revs up if you don't want a kangaroo ride. She is really quick and always puts a very big smile on my face. This is my first bike and I can honestly say that after a good few hours I was at ease with the bike. Every time I get on her it always makes me grin I would recommend the bike to other new riders because in my view if you want to ride out of your depth you will get injured if your sensible and think what your doing your ...

I bought the GSXR 3 and a half years ago as my first 600cc bike, not knowing what to expect. Previously I had ridden smaller bikes for some time but the size of these smaller bikes were proving to be a bit cramped for me as at 6 feet tall, I'm not the tallest of riders but wanted something more just for my size. Heading to the dealers I had all sorts running through my mind, CBR GSXR, ZXR? What to buy? After much humming and harring at other bikes I asked if there were any others I could see 'b ...

This is a bike that has not only met, but surpassed my expectations!

I have owned my Suzuki GSXR600 K1 bike for more than 5 years now, and it is still a buzz. I use it for commuting, Sunday rides and the odd track day. It does it all perfectly.

I have had to do very little to the bike, although the previous owner had looked after it well (full service history etc) and I am looking forward to making my Suzuki even better looking than at present and much prefer the shape of this bike to the more modern ones that are available now.

For those who say this Suzuki GSXR600 K1 is not a beginner bike, wrong! It is a great beginner super sport bike!! It is much lighter than Katana, easier to turn in traffic (again compared to Katana). As long as you control the clutch, it will not kick you up or push you forward as many mention in forums.

Yes you may give some sudden gas as a beginner and this bike will respond to that but still clutch is in your control, use it always. The bike will roar but it will do nothing.

Loved the bike, especially with the Sprint exhaust. Takes the revs for ever, easy to do a wheel on. Looks great for the side and from rear.
Tire wear was a bit of a problem, but it is a sports bike.
What I really did not like was the lack of pulling power form low revs, you gotta keep that engine at high revs all the time, other wise there is a very jerky flow. OK it is not a cruiser but one has to drive through Town one in a while.
Passenger gotta be smaller than you, she sits so high up, b ...

My first road bike after many years on field bikes, this Suzuki GSXR600 K1 will put a big grin on yer face. I bought mine standard and have since thrown a huge amount of cash at her for all the extras stainless pipe and quill can,(massive improvement), TRE mod eliminates timing retard in first four gears unit is switchable (like a different bike). Pulse air mod, effectively bypasses the reed valve and reduces engine drag (didn't like this one as you lose all the engine braking as well so put bac ...
