I've had a number of different electric shavers, and this 8890 Aquagenic Philips is simply the best made I have come across ever. Mine is about 7 years old now. I have had to replace the blades once after about 5 years. The battery still lasts about 2-3 weeks (keep in mind I also shave my bald coconut with it). I flush it out with water about once a week, and whenever it runs flat I also take out the blades and give them a good rinse. It fell after 7 years of duty breaking off one of the clips on the head frame. Still works but if you open it now gotta keep the one section from falling out. Id rather pay more to buy a new head frame than buy anything else.

This review applies to all Philips shaver that use rotary heads (since they use the same technology). I used them for 10 years or so and they created rash in my neck area. I did all I could do to clean and use the recommended products to take care of the product. I also changed the heads when they needed to. I have read similar reports from people and after years of using the razor, I finally clued in. The shaving was close though. Anyway, I have since then used Braun shaver (for 10 years) and have had no problems. It actually works great! And I have no rash. It could be that some problems who have more fat around the face might not be affected. Not sure!

I have my Philips Philishave HQ8890 Infinite Quartz Sensotec Shaver for at least five years and I can't believe the negative things that are said about it. I agree it is not cheap but that is what you can expect for a flawlessly working shaving tool and believe me I have at least twenty years of experience with electric shavers including a Braun that I dumped after a few months giving me a rash and being extremely noisy.

Philips Philishave HQ8890 Infinite Quartz Sensotec is a great shaver. I want to buy the same again after it finally died due to a drop onto a hard floor!

I bought it less than 2 years ago, oil blades, clean it properly once a week, blade broke and cut my neck. Dear Phillips, cop on, I have used your products since i was 17yr old, first shaver i got 13 yrs, 9 on the next one this one what a joke. And the 2nd last one i gave to my dad it still works just the battery doesn't hold a charge on the mains its fine.Manager in the electrical retailers, sold more of your shavers for more years than I care to remember, So so so so disappointed

HAD MINE A FEW YEARS NOW AND THINK IT GIVES A GOOD CUT BLADES CAN BE EXPENSIVE BUT SEARCH THE INTERNET A FEW BARGAINS OUT THERE. GOOD CHARGE LIFE 80 MINS. ONLY NOW THE MAIN HEAD WITH THE LOATING HEADS IS WEARING AND ONE KEEPS POPPING LOOSE. HAVING DIFFICULTY TO FIND SPARE PART AS I DO NOT WANT TO DITCH THIS RAZOR i AM HAPPY WITH IT.

I do have HQ 8894 which is one model higher than this product and I am NOT satisfied with the product. As I mentioned it is way overpriced and after couple of months it started to creat problem. First the charger could not charge properly and after tree times shaving the battery die. WHY!? Water leaked inside the unit. So, I got the new one, now Trimmer is noisy and does not work properly. Belive me or not, it is still in repair shop.

I have a PT920, it came with a 2 year . It also stopped charging after 2 years and 2 months. I went to the warranty claim web page and entered my details. To my surprise Philips said they would send me a new one if I sent them a scanned copy of my original receipt. 24 hours later and I have a new charger in my hands!! Outstanding Philips, well done!
