Good Points: Crisp, oh so crisp. Flat, oh so very flat. Vivid. Affordable.

Bad Points: Attached D-Sub cable, buttons "feel" cheap. Bundled colour calibration software.

General comments: My old Panasonic PanaSync E70 started to go on me (it served me well for over 7 yrs) so I decided to pick up the LG F700B as a replacement. I'm partial to LG computer products, mainly because of price, and availability.
A model on the market roughly 2 years now, the F700B still looks tastefully modern with it's curves and two tone gray case. The only down side to it's design are the "chrome" display settings buttons - Not only do they look out of place, they're very noisy (almost tinny sounding) when pushed. Also the attached 15 pin Analog cable is disappointing, preventing easy replacement (if needed).
Virtually effortless installation on a WinXP based system, even though the driver had to be installed through device manager. The included Colorific software on the other hand was a waste of time. It repeatedly crashed before it could finish, and Photoshop continually warned me of a defective RGB profile. Uninstalling the program and using Adobe's presets solved that problem. The OSD (On Screen Display) settings were easy to configure and the geometry is accurate. The Flatron technology is quite remarkable, although does take some getting used to, and can even appear curved at the bottom when it actually isn't (Sort of the opposite of the Parthenon's floor). Overall picture quality (colour, contrast, sharpness, etc.) is great, running at 1280 x 1024 resolution and no distortion or degradation in image quality. Movies look great, games even better, image editing is easier and concise.
I highly recommend this monitor to anyone on a budget but unwilling to sacrifice quality. Truly beautiful to look at.

The purchase of the LG Flatron F700B is my second foray into LG Electronics. In fact both of my LG purchases were made on the same day when I bought the F700B monitor and a Flatron 100hz 76cm TV. Well the TV lasted a day before I started having contrast problems where the screen would go bright white and then completely black. If I give the TV a little tap then the picture magically re-appears. For the past three months I've been thinking 'well at least the monitor works!'. Unfortunately, that's ...

I've purchased my first F700B CRT flatscreen monitor about a year ago. The initial experience was having some dark patches on the top of the screen. Took it back to the shop to get another replacement and it's wonderful ever since. It does take a bit of time getting used to it, it almost give a concave kinda effect in the begining that you have to get used to. When I needed a second 17" True Flat, scounted around and nothing beats the LG F700B for prince/image quality. Now I have two! Cheers.

I was after a new 17" monitor when my Sony E220 prematurely gave up the ghost and went all pale on me. After recommendations from a few stores I decided to give the LG F700B a shot. Easy to set up etc. but I instantly spotted a handful of problems. A horrid dark bluish area at the bottom of the screen which no amount of moving of cables or possible interference sources could fix; menu bar at the top of my screen was so distorted I thought the font on my Mac's preferences had been changed; th ...

The definition on the LG (Lucky Goldstar) F700B 17inch Flatron is incredible just as the colors are. The depth of field defies imagination. You'll have to get used to that depth of field. for the first hours it could give you a headache. The only regret i have is to have choose the 700b models instead of the 700p (1600x1200, 60hz). only bad point is the "Coloric" by LightSurf color matching software. that is unable to do the job. i run it 2 times and still my photoshop would tell me that my RGB ...

Just bought one of these 3 days ago, then I noticed that the colour across the top portion of the display wash darker in patches, and slighty blurry. Tried moving the monitor to a different part of the room/ away from cables etc, but it seems like its the screens fault. I'm taking it back, should have known not to trust LG :/ Maybe I was just "unlucky"...
