A Honda Fireblade would be more comfortable, better suited to a wider range of roads, faster, possibly better handling (debatable) but how many Fireblades do you see every day?
If you like the idea of a Ducati but want to spend time riding a bike, not having it serviced or repaired the SP2 is fantastic. I speak from experience; I had a Ducati 888 which I loved but it needed constant attention and demanded money be thrown at it regularly. The SP2's a Honda. The reliability of a 1.4 Civic, the per ...

This is the best bike I've had and if I wanted to replace it I can't find anything quite like it. Very well built good brakes good suspension a pleasure to ride.

Fantastic bike great all rounder. I have had my sp2 for 18 months and must say am very happy. After jumping off a fire storm and onto this baby it is a totally different ride. With my akropvic pipes sending a rumble down the street she sounds and goes amazing.

Wanted a Honda VTR1000 since they came out and now I own one! I have had many other bikes in-line fours, twins ect, the last been a gsxr750 K7 and this just knocks spots off the rest of them! It may not pump out the 160+ that the new 1000's do but i bet i could out ride many blokes on them with my SP2!

The true v twin you dream of and of course that racing heritage. You take the fairing off and the engine casing is covered in hrc marking
    You wont be disappointed.
Do I need to say more. You cant go wrong.

I had a Honda SP-1 before my SP-2 and I was worried I might not like it as much, needless to say I loved it just as much as the SP-1.

The fuelling is a bit better than the previous bike and the suspension is a little softer. It's not a bike for beginners, it's very focused and single minded, but, when you make the change from a four to this twin you'll never go back!

Not the easiest bike to ride on very bumpy, rough roads but get it on a ribbon of smooth, flowing tarmac and you'll feel like C ...

I am intrigued by the design of the bike. It's a real eye catcher. The beefy looking but wind skimming looks make it so different to all the rest. Bright colours also help it to have it's own personality. It has great handling and is an incredibly fast and comfortable bike to ride. I think its the best for its price in comparison to others around the same. You could ride the bike for hours and hours and would not be able to get off!
For the money its the best bike out!

A Honda classic, the only bike I have ever owned and never tired of, no matter how many times I take it out. To get the best out of this machine you need to junk the o.e. exhaust cans as they are way too heavy and over baffled and fit a power commander to smooth out the delivery and low speeds. You can lower the final gearing also to really fire out of corners and leave the fours behind.
This bike is not for everyone as it is quite single minded but if you like sportsbikes it's a genuine works ...

This is the only time I have owned a bike for 5 years and not once have lusted after anything else!
Power commander recommended for smoother throttle response and the o.e. cans are simply too heavy and baffled.
    T.B.R. cans sorted that one.
Increased ride height at the rear makes for quicker steering.
My favourite bike of all time.

After years of blades and R1s I finally got the chance to own an sp2. I had toyed with the v-twin option for a while and wanted an sp2, only thing is they are scarce in the showrooms. Now that I have one I am over the moon with it, still have to adapt to riding v twin rather than inline four. We do the usual Sunday rideout and all of my mates have various big fours, blades, gxrs, r1s and zx12s. What I have found is that the sp2 is so at home on the fast A roads we have in Ayrshire, launching fro ...

This is my first Honda VTR1000 SP2 and I do love it. I have a full Akropovic race system, awesome sound blows you away, renthal sprockets, etc, and R&G crash protectors for that moment you hope never comes. I also fitted a double bubble although not sure if it helps (looks good tho). A definite head turner and that's not just because of my Akropvic cans (well maybe just a bit). Will probably keep this bike for some time just for the grin factor it gives.

The Honda VTR1000 is a great bike, turns heads where ever you go. Pure GRUNT. The monster as I call it. It pulls hard down low. The sound is enough to annoy your neighbours if you have aftermarket pipes fitted. I have a pair of Yosh R3 Race Cans fitted with the baffels out, about 140 db. It corners great, feels light for a big bike.

This is my second Honda VTR1000 SP2. I went back after having a 03 Fireblade and couldn't get on with it. The SP is fun to ride and gives confidence. It is built superbly and looks fantastic. It is HRC lets face it! I also use the bike to commute, which, in bad weather, tests your throttle control, but overall, the feeling when you get on and start that V twin is second-to-none.

I've ridden my Honda VTR1000 SP2 for about 1500 miles and I like the bike in genereal. It really only makes sense and comes together when riding it at a fast pace, which I suppose is the only thing it was designed for town riding or tootling around just isn't worth getting it out the garage for.

Handling is great and the engine loves lots of revs. It's been 100% reliable and feels as solid as every other Honda I've owned. I have done one track day on the bike so far and it was excellent - ma ...

I think the Honda SP2 is a great bike. I have riden one for over a year now, and honestly, it still makes me smile. Every time I start it up, the sound is awesome. When idle, you can hear each fire from the cylinders. My neighbours don't like it though.

The Bike is heavy going in town. Not designed for this though, but once out on your favourite roads, then it all becomes clear. The grunt out of the corners is great, top end is also impressive (approx. 165mph). The breaks are as good as ...
