“Prestige Copper bottom saucepans”

Written on: 16/07/2011

I have had my set of saucepans for 25 years....have added a milk saucepan & frying pan to complete the set. They were rather expensive then, but well worth every penny. Have had no problems & they have been used nearly every day. The handles have also held up well. I never want any other saucepans as these are my old friends & have many years more use left in them Thank you Prestige.....for once in life...a bargain for my money !! (read more)

“We have had a set of Prestige copper-bottom saucepans...”

Written on: 25/03/2011

We have had a set of Prestige copper-bottom saucepans for 23 years, bought as a wedding present, plus we bought the frying pan and an extra saucepan for what seemed a huge amount of money. After about 15 years we replaced the handles and they continued to be used everyday, then by our teenagers who used and abused them, even setting fire to them a few times! The handles are now failing again but the pans are still the best thing we ever had, so we searched for a suitable replacement. We have... (read more)

Had to comment as I too have had a set of Prestige copper bottom saucepans (4) a chip pan and a frying pan for 40 years this month (wedding presents + rest brought with wedding present cash). Were they expensive; you bet they were, especially to a young couple just starting married life but they have been worth every penny! Although we have a dishwasher now we have always washed them by hand and I think that is why the handles and knobs have lasted so long. However, I have recently been in... (read more)

I too would be interested in the results for info on replacing lid handles. I bought my Prestige copper clad pans when I got married in 1967 and have always used them but the lid handles urgently need replacing.

I have had my Prestige Copper Bottomed Pans for 24 years. Way back then I paid £75 for the set of 3. Everyone said I was crazy to pay so much just for pans, and I often wonder how much they have paid for pans and replacement pans since!! I am however having to replace them now as I had the pans with wooden handles as I thought that they looked better than the plain black (which were the same price), unfortunately back then they did not state dishwasher safe or not, and I could not have... “I have the same problem with my copper based Prestige...”

Written on: 15/01/2010

I have the same problem with my copper based Prestige pans bought 20 years ago at a price of £40 each, way back then! The handle fell off one pan over Xmas and a lid handle broke clean off some time ago. I contacted the company and was told if the pans were bought before 1997, I have no come back - lifetime guarantee void. If your pans were bought after 1997, you have to send them back for inspection!
Saying all that, I WILL buy Prestige again, I do the weight test in the shops, balancing... (read more)

We had a set of Prestige saucepans as a wedding present 20 years ago. Unfortunately one of the copper plates off the bottom of one of the pans had come away. Apparently the pans have a "life times guarantee", but I am unable to find any contact details for Prestige so the matter can be resolved! Apart from that the pans are great. (read more)

I just had to write. This year we celebrated our Diamond Wedding. Since then we have used our Prestige Pressure Cooker & Prestige Chip Pan & in doing so, we realised they has both been with us, together for the same amount of years. They were wedding gifts. They are both in pristine condition despite heavy use. When Prestige says "it's for life" you are justified. Just thought you should know. (read more)

Written on: 15/09/2009 by Mfanwy (1 review written)

I have had a Prestige copper bottom milk pan for over 45 years. It has travelled to Singapore and lived there for 2.5 years, back to the UK and traveled to 14 different homes there. It then crossed the Atlantic and accross Canada to it's present home here in Vancouver Canada. It has been used almost everyday and was once a toy for my children. It has never dented despite rough treatment and has been used on all kinds of hobs and cookers. Thank you Prestige, I wish I could get more like this. (read more)

I have had a set of prestige copper bottom pans in constant use for 30 years and still in good condition, the reason I bought mine was that my mother had the same pans and had been useing them for 20+ years at that time. she still has the same pans and still uses them every day 50+ years not bad would like to buy the same for my son and his girlfreind but concerned that like a lot of things are they as good these days. He has asked for the same pans I have (read more)
