Bad Points: Shame this wasn't the basis for today's machines. The world would have been a nicer place. Minor point - the microphone never worked.
General comments: Astonishing functionality, long life, and ALWAYS instantly available. I still use it today. Being able to use it at any moment beats pen and paper. And certainly beats waiting for an OS to unsleep, nevermind boot up!
Years and years of use. And I'm about to add a wifi card, so it's still surprising me with how great it is. Well recommend Psion Series 7.

Fully Integrated system in a clam shell design and does exactly what is expected of it. Easy to use, and has the best keyboard of all these type of devices. It really is a fully usable mini PC, and you can really type in a letter or report as quickly as with a full blown word processing PC.
The other manufacturers could have learnt a lot about design from Psion, but they seem to have ignored the lessons and persist with odd design shapes, and unusable keyboards. I still have my Psion and still u ...

I use my Psion Series 7 PDA to keep my company records, for all the personal accounts, the accounts of the gun club that I am treasurer of and for email. Most useful when travelling for sending pictures as attachments as we go.
Neuon N convert transfers and converts sheet files but does not transfer the formulas so untill a solution comes up that is the only thing that lets it down for me. I recently had to send it away for repair. Just a couple of little things - mainly the microphone did not ...

I have had nearly all the Psions apart from the mid-eighties mobiles and I have toyed with a Palm IIIc. Without a doubt the Psion Series 7 is the best machine. However it is not a palmtop; too heavy and cumbersome to look up phone numbers on a station platform and I use it in conjunction with my Series 5 for work.
The Type II CF slot takes microdrives for maximum pose points in the office.

Having said that. I do like the Psion 7, but not quite love. I just wish they had more software available.
Games are great, but I've kinda grown out of that. I now need business applications.
Maybe a palm top would have been a better choice.

The Psion Series 7 is easy to use with instant on, good 'Basic' applications that are good for draft copies to transfer to the PC. Or they can produce reasonable documents for production on the move (with portable printer. The e mail program is so easy to set up I prefer it to the PC. Having just had to send it away for repair highlighted how much I use it in every day events.

Software - I just wish I had the money to get everything. Never had a problem with the backup battery. Though it has not travelled far is an invaluable part of life.

The Psion Series 7 is excellent for text - immediate power up and close down, with easy transfer to PC's etc. Download your agenda
from e.g. Microsoft Outlook on the PC. The Series 7 has lasted me well for over a year and I could not function
without the contact list and the Agenda File.

I have had a Psion Series 7 since they were launched in the UK, and it has been all round the world with me. I have dropped it, sat on it, lost it, found it. It has never been in a protective carrycase and still looks like new.

The Psion 7 EPOC operating system has a smart UI that saves what you are doing as you do it. You can close the lid at any time and open later to carry on where you left off.
After nearly a year, my series 7 still looks and works like new. Highly recommended.
