We are loving the Soreen fruity malt loaf - our favourite way to eat it is toasted with chocolate spread ;-) The kids have been having a slice or two buttered in their packed lunches which is great because it's good for them as well as being tasty - it makes a nice change to the usual chocolate biscuits that they ask for. A slice of this loaf is filled with fruit and is lovely as a snack. (read more)

Soreen fruit malt loaf is a firm favourite with my family. The original fruit malt loaf has a good combination of fruit and indulgence - especially sliced thickly and spread with butter - delicious! Now Soreen has introduced the Toastie loaf - which is versatile as you can use some, freeze some and defrost when you want some! My Mum loves it with just marmalade! My son enjoys it with chocolate spread! Finally, another great innovation by those lovely people at the HQ of Soreen is the... (read more)

I'm not a fan of the malt loaf but my other half is. He adds lots of butter and likes it both toasted or as it comes. I prefer the banana one. Beautiful, just the right texture and flavour. I will defiantly be buying the pre packed individual ones for work. Both myself and my partner will snack on them and no messing about in the mornings. Bonus. The price is right for me. Not too expensive thank god. (read more)

My wife and I used to love this product but after some years away from it I thought I would treat us to a loaf. As I cut it I thought this is a bit soggy, but that was nothing compared to the disappointment of tasting it. I was expecting a malty sweet fruity firm mouthful, only to get a claggy mush in my mouth, it was horrid. I then read the ingredients and one of the largest ingredients was water! It should be marketed as a pudding! (read more)

One or two slices are NOT going to kill you!! If you examine every single thing we eat, then you would never eat anything.
I eat a very healthy, low fat, organic diet, so one or two slices or Soreen really is not that bad is it!!

Now available in Oz from English sweet shop in Manly, NSW...Quite delicious, but too dear for 400 gram loaf (?) @ AU$ 5.25.
I realise that Oz is a long way from UK, but it's not sent airfreight, surely?
I would buy it often , but my bank manager might object. :)

Rider to my first post...Soreen has great flavour but on reflection, it's a tad too chewy. Seem to recall that earlier production, ex Hovis, (?), was more of a regular bread consistency...Nonetheless, a delicious munchy, especially with cream cheese> I'm raiding my piggy bank now for another loaf!

Found 'Soreen' - malt loaf in Birkdale (English Shop), a bit expensive at $7.50 when it only costs £1.20 back home.
But this stuff is really good - so come on - is there anyone in Oz that can get this malt loaf and sell it at a respectable price?
