Black Magic Choclolates...I'd just like to say how sad that Nestle actually believed the bland, boring mediocre truffle square shaped c*ap would be welcomed as an acceptable replacement to the old attractive varied shapes and delicious flavours...When I got them in xmas a year or so ago their appearance and taste bored me to tears and I was so dissapointed.

Sure enough no one liked them and they flopped hard and its almost laughable since they were really the most tragic excuse for an new improvement that I ever had the misfortune to waste money on.

But instead of admitting their mistake nestle apparently have claimed their reason for axing the square shaped c*ap was, "due to the credit crunch people prefer their old favourites instead of new premium chocloates" or some utter rubbish like that. Can you believe they have the gall to blame the credit crunch as the reason for the flop of the pathetic new chocolates instead of admitting they FAILED. The nerve.

I'm glad to hear they have attempted to restore them somewhat to the old style but still not as good according to many. Why cant they just make them exactly as they used to for crying out loud

The chocolate is horrible, not dark enough and too sweet and too thick. The centres are nothing like the original. Has anybody at Nestle ever tried the original Black Magic? There used to be a good choice of centres, not just 6.
The new version is like a slightly darker Dairy Box and not worth the money. I won't buy them again and I shall tell people not to get them for me.

Have they sacked everybody in the past few years and lost the original recipe ???? Having been told that Nestle were to re-introduce the classic Black Magic assortment, I decided to give them another chance after suffering great disappointment when I found out they had introduceded an all new format previously. Sin of Sins !!!! These re-branded "classic" chocolates are nothing like the original selection ...who are they trying to kid ? They taste weird, they look weird, they even smell a bit fu ...

I have never been a huge chocolate eater but I was born and bred only a couple of hundred metres from Rowntree's factory in York. Black Magic was always my favourite selection and a couple of days ago, I decided to treat myself and bought a box.
Horror of horrors! They didn't even LOOK like Black Magic. Where were my 3 favourites? Coffee cream, Turkish Delight and Liquid Cherry?
I'm sorry Nestle but from now on, It's Thornton's and the occasional Cadbury's Bournville for me.

I was very excited recently to receive a letter from Nestle saying the old black magics were back, I sent my husband straight out to buy some. How disappointing!! they are a sad shadow of their former selves. The chocolate doesnt taste the same, they dont smell the same. The centres are just so bad compared with the absolute delight they used to be. Why did they have to do this? They clearly got it wrong by introducing those horrible square things and now are trying to put it right by fobbing us ...

The square blocks were a total disaster & ended in the bin & never bought another box of them after years of being the only chocolates I ever bought.
Anyhow after being notified by Nestle recently of their new Classic selection I thought worth a try--------what a suck in, slight improvement on them square blocks (that wouldn't take much doing), so I'm back to an ex-Black Magic customer again.
Why couldn't they leave well alone to start with---there was nothing to beat the black chocolate selecti ...

What happened to the old Black Magic chocolates? Bring them back. They have always been my favourites, especially the orange, strawberry and coffee creams. They are all hard centres now and difficult to work out what flavour they are.I never guessed that new packaging would mean new chocolates, what a disappointment.
Everyone knew if they were buying me chocolates, only Black Magic would do, but not anymore, I have told family and friends not to buy them.
Come on Nestles, what are you playing ...

Ghastly! Nestle Black Magic is a box full of same-tasting, same-looking, disappointing, dark chocolate-coloured cubes. And to think the old ones were so gorgeous...

Nestle are trading on the Black Magic name, which is a trap for the unwary.
My Mother's face lit up when I took Black Magic to the hospital, but there was sheer disappointment when she opened the box.
We will never buy this product again, but what of the many people who do not know and who will part with cash they can ill afford? I would like a warning on the box "These chocolates may cause disappointment."
(I put a one -star rating only because there is no option to for no stars at all.) ...

Horrible. A complete let-down. I was embarrassed when the person I gave the nestle black magic to opened them. They used to be nice and an interesting selection. Now boring and cheap tasting.

Why have nestle changed the delicious chocolates that used to be sold as 'Black Magic' to such tasteless rubbish?

Living abroad, I don't get Black Magic very often. I was given a box for Fathers Daytoday, and I was delighted... until I opened the box. Other than it being a dark chocolateassortment and the name, there seems to be no perceivable connection between thesechocs and the Black Magic that I remember. What a shame, yet another piece of historythat Nestle has ground into oblivion.
