“Twiglets Have Changed”

Written on: 24/02/2016 by qoDunlap115 (1 review written)

Modern twiglets are burnt tasting and more bland than in bygone days. Previously they were sticky, peppery and tasted of Marmite.

How can Jacobs, who I spoke to, say that the recipe is the same? Why would they change the recipe?

If anything, flavours of snacks are more intense these days, if, for example, there is chilli involved.

Please make them like they used to be.

“A Huge Disappointment”

Written on: 30/01/2016 by jazazz (1 review written)

I am from South Africa, so Twiglets were new to me, and were recommended when I said I liked Marmite Rice Cakes. I couldn't wait to try them, but was bitterly disappointed on tasting them, as they tasted as if they had been overcooked to the point of being burnt. I thought perhaps I had bought a bad batch...but now, on googling this product, I find that everyone agrees that they do taste burnt. I DO hope that Jacobs reverts to their original recipe for the Twiglets, as I am a fan of this sort… Read Full Review

“Why Oh Why”

Written on: 17/01/2016 by bbMcCaffrey8 (1 review written)

Why oh why when a product is as successful as Twiglets (I've been enjoying these for approx 40years) do the manufacturer think they would improve things by changing them...... Now all you get are burnt offerings........disgusting !!!!! United Biscuits should really listen to its loyal customers and.......... BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL TWIG-LETS !!!!!!!!!!… Read Full Review

“They don't taste like they used to”

Written on: 03/02/2015 by Pinkpixxi (1 review written)

Imagine my disappointment . . . I fill lled the car up with gas and grabbed a cheeky packet of Twiglets at the garage to munch on my way. I have been a huge fan since childhood. Now in my 50's. . . What happen, I could barely eat a handful let alone get through a whole packed. . . In the bin they swiftly went! They have little or no Marmite taste to them at all, more like cardboard! Customer lost… Read Full Review

“Twiglets are no longer nice”

Written on: 09/01/2015 by Jules140671 (1 review written)

Jacobs, please bring back the delicious marmite taste of twiglets, I bought a tub today for my children to try, they are both marmite lovers. To my horror, they both spat them out. When I tasted them for myself, I realised why. They no longer taste like marmite but have a disgusting burnt taste to them, so just binned them and vowed to never buy them again and warn anyone who thinks they are delicious still, not to get them. Jacobs you've let your twiglet fans down. !!!!… Read Full Review

“Thinner and less coating!?”

Written on: 23/05/2014 by Alianaw1971 (1 review written)

What's happened with the twiglet?! Having been an avid twiglet muncher for some years now, and therefore more than qualified in assessing the standard of the twiglet, it's apparent from recent consumption that the twiglet is just too twiggy nowadays. Whilst the basic ingredients remain unchanged, it's clear that the girth of the twiglet has diminished, meaning that this is no longer a satisfactory snack. Are twiglets following in the footsteps of roast beef monster munch!? I mean, where's… Read Full Review

“Much Improved Twiglets.....”

Written on: 10/02/2014

Until recently Twiglets were in the "love them or hate them" category. They are now less covered in Marmite flavouring, most of which used to end up sticky on your fingers, more appealing and a great snack. Unless you hate them of course which some people will still do of course..........can't please everyone!!… Read Full Review

I am disappointed with the new Twiglets. I loved their distinctive taste and the crunchiness - but now they have lost much of their flavour and are less tasty.

“I agree, they've changed”

Written on: 29/09/2013 by Angiejv (2 reviews written)

Having read the previous reviews, I can't say that I agree with the "burnt" comments. However I was a massive fan of these snacks since childhood, I've gained several years since then and I've noticed a few changes along the way, none of them for the better, they're far blander than they used to be - a) they're not as peppery, b) they're not as salty, c) they're not as marmitey. I just Jacobs would bring back the original recipe… Read Full Review

“Snacks, or burned sticks?”

Written on: 05/05/2013 by JohnSansker (1 review written)

Hailing from The Netherlands, I was only familiar with Twiglets from UK comedies (Mr. Bean, Bottom). I was pleasantly surprised when I found several bags in the UK-food isle of a Belgian Carrefour supermarket, and I bought one bag to find out what the Brits are raving about. A few days later, I opened the bag with anticipation... When I bit into one, I was surprised by the taste of burned croutons with added flavour. The after-taste isn't bad, but the burned taste is terrible! My first thought… Read Full Review

“Absolutely Disgusting”

Written on: 30/12/2012

These chips are by far the most disgusting snack food available. They taste like burnt toast mixed with cardboard. They taste nothing like Marmite which I love. I honestly don't have any clue as to why people love these chips so much. They are basically burnt sticks, which I guess means they have an accurate name!… Read Full Review

you're right, but years ago with more oils in the recipe as well as salt they were nice. times change & some brands are now inedible in light of how they mess with the recipe

“Could be better”

Written on: 04/12/2012 by Victoria102 (1 review written)

I remember having twiglets some 30 years ago and they tasted fab. Hot and Peppery. The only underlying taste now adays is a burnt taste. What have they do to this once wonderful savoury snack. They need to go back to the old receipe and stop messing with perfection… Read Full Review

“love them all”

Written on: 22/11/2012

Ive always been a fan of the original twiglets, all though i dont buy them often any more as they have become expensive. I would definatly pay extra for all the old flavours they had out about ten years a go. Im disgruntled that they brought the Worcester sauce flavour out last year and i had no idea about it. Even thinking about them is making my mouth water. I also remember the green packaged ones, really cant remember what they were but they were delicious. Please Jacobs, wise up and bring… Read Full Review
