“Snacks, or burned sticks?”

Written on: 05/05/2013 by JohnSansker (1 review written)

Hailing from The Netherlands, I was only familiar with Twiglets from UK comedies (Mr. Bean, Bottom). I was pleasantly surprised when I found several bags in the UK-food isle of a Belgian Carrefour supermarket, and I bought one bag to find out what the Brits are raving about. A few days later, I opened the bag with anticipation... When I bit into one, I was surprised by the taste of burned croutons with added flavour. The after-taste isn't bad, but the burned taste is terrible! My first... (read more)

“Absolutely Disgusting”

Written on: 30/12/2012

These chips are by far the most disgusting snack food available. They taste like burnt toast mixed with cardboard. They taste nothing like Marmite which I love. I honestly don't have any clue as to why people love these chips so much. They are basically burnt sticks, which I guess means they have an accurate name! (read more)

you're right, but years ago with more oils in the recipe as well as salt they were nice. times change & some brands are now inedible in light of how they mess with the recipe

“Could be better”

Written on: 04/12/2012 by Victoria102

I remember having twiglets some 30 years ago and they tasted fab. Hot and Peppery. The only underlying taste now adays is a burnt taste. What have they do to this once wonderful savoury snack. They need to go back to the old receipe and stop messing with perfection. (read more)

“love them all”

Written on: 22/11/2012

Ive always been a fan of the original twiglets, all though i dont buy them often any more as they have become expensive. I would definatly pay extra for all the old flavours they had out about ten years a go. Im disgruntled that they brought the Worcester sauce flavour out last year and i had no idea about it. Even thinking about them is making my mouth water. I also remember the green packaged ones, really cant remember what they were but they were delicious. Please Jacobs, wise up and... (read more)

“Twiglets seem to have changed”

Written on: 14/01/2012

I still like Twiglets, but they used to be better. Now there is a brief Marmite type taste followed by a 'Burnt Toast' type taste, but just enough nice taste to keep you eating them for a while. They also covered my fingers in a black residue. If they have changed the recipe/ingredients or whatever and it's not my taste buds changing with age, I think it's a shame. Maybe the recession is to blame ? I notice another person on here said that Twiglets taste like 'Burnt Bread.' maybe I'm not so... (read more)

Written on: 15/02/2010

I haven't had the opportunity to try the other flavours yet, but I have to say that the original Twiglets are possibly the most disgusting thing I have ever put in my mouth. They taste like burnt bread. It's an icky taste that takes ages to get out of your mouth. I regret ever wasting the money I paid for the lot, I wish I had known more about them before bothering. I don't know what people see in the nasty little things. (read more)

Written on: 23/03/2009 by SamSon 08

The Marmite flavor hooked me years ago, when I lived in the London area. Now almost everyone in my extended USA family has developed the craving. They're so hard to get! Why doesn't Jacobs market them more actively, especially in the US? As a former head of European direct marketing in a large company, I encourage someone at Jacob's offices in the UK to develop a US marketing plan, beginning in key MSA's in South Florida and the Greater New York area. Trying to buy Jacob's Twiglets here... (read more)

I hate twiglets, they tatse disgusting..... until they brought ot the Worcetser Sauce flavour. They only appeared at Christmas and I bought 6 tubs last they we available. All our friends loved them and yet I think they have been discontinued to to lack of popularity!!!!!!!! Insane!!!! - Jacobs ought to release a trial production batch and see how they sell with some good advertising.... I think they'll be snapped up and become a huge seller. (read more)
