After owning a Motorola T720i for several months it started turning itself off at random. I went in to the store to complain and another person there had the same problem. Motorola Customer Support said that was just a coincidence and there were no known issues with the phone. I sent it back for repair. It came back and the problem was not fixed. The first day back it turned itself off. I called Motorola again and they wanted me to send it in again. I told them I had done my part and was not... (read more)

I have had my Motorola T720i for about a year and half now, and I must say I have had a few problems with it, but generally it has done the job it was made to do, ring people and text people.
The good points to this phone is that it is quite stylish, being a flip phone and all, but I have found that it is easily scratched and so not for those of you who want a phone that is going to remain all clean and shiny. It is fairly easy to use, an easy navigation system and menu. The texting was...

I've had my Motorola T720i for a short while and already I'm feeling that I wished I never even looked at it, it's so unreliable. It's huge it doesn't fit in my pocket and is really heavy for a phone. It's camera feature is the worst I've seen everything looks like a big ball of fuzz.
The pics already in the phone are disapointing.
Don't use the phone for anything.

Well it's rubbish. I bought a Motorola T720i because it was quite a big size (for my thumbs, a bit big). So I received it, charged it, played around with it for a while, seems ok...for now. Plugged in the camera, put it straight back in the box, luckily it was free. A few weeks into owning it, it started to be a bit temperamental (it turns its self off it freezes it doesn't ring the ringtones change randomly and in volume). Basically it is riddled with bugs and I wouldn't recommend this... (read more)

I had my Motorola T720i for about 6 months. I wanted a phone that had a flip front and a camera so I was pleased when I was offered it free with my monthly tariff upgrade. I got mine from O2 website but I have seen them available for all types of prices, from £50 - £180, all over the place. Ebay seems to be a good place to look!
When it arrived my pleasure became a delight. The small shiny little phone with colour screen and flip cover. It also has a screen on the top of the phone, for...

I certainly haven't had as bad an experience with this phone as most others seem to.
To get bad points out the way, yes, the camera quality is a little poor, but remember the technology is now over a year old so obviously newer phones have improvements. The ability to only store 10 received messages is the most annoying thing!!! Plus, because the camera is stored as an extra, it leaves very little space for downloaded games.
I've never had random alarms, etc. I use it every morning - never...

I have owned this Motorola T720i mobile phone for about 11 months now and I am counting down the days till the end of my contract. I have never been so disappointed with a phone.
For a heavy texter this is stupid, it takes 9 button pushes to select the recipient of a text before you can even enter the message.
Basically, see the summary of bad points and multiply by 10. Very irratating phone.
Oh, and if it breaks on warranty...it took Motorola about 7 weeks to send a returns pack to me.

This Motorola T720i truly is the worst mobile phone I have ever owned. How it has not been recalled is beyond me. The ring tones are often too quite to hear, and the phone will sometimes just break for no reason. Mine's been in the repair shop twice much to no avail. If you want my opinion, don't just not buy this phone, NEVER buy Motorola. They are the worst most unreliable phones on the market (read more)

i baught this phone for its looks which now look all so very dull and tasteless. the camera is rubbish, the whole phone is just to slow and generaly has hardly any features, even the poly tones sound rubbish and are far to quite for my likeing. the car kit is useless, again too quiet and never mind the fact the motorola kit is a naff fit on its...

At first I also thought the Motorola T720i was really cool. Heck, I loved it. Until I started to really notice its capabilities and not judge it's look. The ring tones are way way to soft, can't even hear it on max when driving my car with the radio on just a little, and the car is pretty quiet. Don't know if its just me, but the screen goes wack every once in a while... I say, this phone is horrible, worst one I ever bought, I prefered my t300 by sony ericsson better. Even my nokia... I am disappointed with the support from Motorola. I think this phone should be recalled and replaced with something that works.

Motorola T720i is a truely a pathetic phone. i just couldn't believe how horrible, quiet and creeky the ring tones sounded. The screen goes invisible if its not tilted 90 degres. This phone still retails for £170 with the camera attachment. One other thing i must mention is this phone is huge its the largest flip phone ive seen since the year 2000. The key pad looks retro and ugly. Motorola v500 is selling for £180 which is miles better so this leaves the t720i surplus to requirements to... (read more)

Ok, I posted a review a few weeks ago on this phone. Ignore it completely, I must have been drunk. Well actually I've been using one for 4 days now, and now can safely say that it is unwise to get a Motorola T720i. I've now had three motorolas now, and none of them had any user friendly menus. Nokia still have the very user-friendly and easy-use menu. They are (or at least were) up to date with the latest features. On this phone, you can only store voice tags to names if you store the name... (read more)

Look, dont buy the Motorola T720i mobile phone. Take my word on this its rubbish. The camera is absolutely useless, the predictive text unintelligable, the features basic, the ringtones low, scratchy and the display is extremely disappoinitng. Without a doubt this is the worst phone I have ever had. It has more crashes per week than Formula One and is way too fragile. (read more)

I work at Phones4u, so I tend to try out many new handsets. At first sight, this handset didn't look as nice as the Samsung T100. The T100 has a much nicer shape, the external screen is nice and the keypad looks more stylish. The Motorola T720i on the other hand looks very basic. Even the old A300 is a bit more up to date with style. Apart from that, the phone has a nice 'feel' to it, not as uncomfortable as other phones of the same design. It's not too light, which is a good thing, or it... (read more)

This is a nice looking phone, but for $149.00 it's not worth it. I have a Nokia 3595 and it basically has all the similar features (even voice activation and it works great). I use my phone so much, the T720i flip was getting flimsy, but you will get that in all flip phones. Last, I talked to a sales person at Cingular and he informed me that the T720i had a recall (the T720) because it had way too much problems. Now the updated version is the T720i which is supose to be better, but... (read more)

All in all a good phone, i haven't experienced any problems with mine as far as it crashing or the alarm going off at odd times etc.
The design isnt flimsy although it may not be as strong as some nokias.
The only problem with the phone as far as im concerned is the poor camera quality. Regardless of what light you are in, the picture wont be anywhere like that of the samsung v200, sharp gx10i or the panasonic gd87. So, if your looking for a dedicated picture taker look elsewhere.

When looking to buy a phone I wanted to get one that was an upgrade of my old phone, the siemens C45. I looked around and saw this Motorola T720i. I managed to get it at a good price online from the o2 website, £179.99 inc camera. The phone is very easy to use, with quick key and full menu approaches.
The polyphonics are good and there are plenty of free downloads that you can get for it, as it is capable of holding upto 32 extra along with the 32 programmed ones in the phone.

The basics are fine - although call volume is a bit low and ring-tones are too quiet. The screen is nice and bright, but only stays on for a max time of 20 secs. Menu is simple if a bit slow.
Main gripe is that it cannot send MMS photos to another T720i .... O2 tells me it's a design fault?
Has also crashed a few times - with the screen just going blank and it can't display some WAP sites - including half of the O2 active sites.
Nice - but could be much better.

I agree. Motorola's Suport Centre is rubbish. I had a Motorola C333 and the polyphonic speaker broke, it woudln't play ringtones. So i sent an email to them asking them what to do and i never got an email back. Just goes to show how much they care about their customers.

I agree with malinky, at first I really liked the Motorola T720i mobile phone. But then the problems started, when the things that malinky had described started happening on my phone, I thought it was just a co-incidence. But then I found other reviews that said similar things to malinky, I have tried to have my phone fixed but they said that there was nothing they could do about it, so now I am stuck with a broken phone. Only if I had got the insurance, then again I am happy I didn't. The... (read more)

I found the T720i to be above average as a mobile phone. Unfortunatley I wasn't a first time buyer and had expected phones to have progressed lot since I bought my Nokia 3310. All though the T720i has a lot of features (some impressive, and some not so impressive) I expected it to live up to expexctations. When you see the front cover you think things can only get better, it is well designed, has an outside screen, and is reasonnably sized for a flip phone. But when I opened the phone I was... The T720i is an upgrade of the T720, the main differences are the camera, and the increased standby plus talktime.
The phone has been made using the clamshell design ( a very popular design at the moment), there is also a screen which has been built into the outside of the phone ( this helps a lot when you don't want to talk to certain people or you just want to know who is their), and a full colour screen.
There is only two phones on the market at the moment that come with a 180 degrees...

Well I got this phone and too be honest after using nokia's im not that impressed. The size for downloads is so small, if you want another game than the one supplied you need to delete the motoracer game. I found the itap text input to be worst than nokia's predictive text, the screens ok but could be better, camera is awful quailty. This is a very good phone. It is small stylish and the colour screen can be good or bad. The camera is not to good although it is better than on the nokia 7210. The screen can be very dull if you use a bad background but some have good quality colour on them. I got this phone on contract from O2 to replace my Motorola V60 pay as you go. It looks pretty good, not that much different from the GX10 and differs from the original T720 due to it's attatchable camera and longer battery life. This means that it is ever so sligtly chunkier, but not much at all. The ring tones sound nice and the battery life is very good. It also looks nice, apart from the screen. It may be a colour screen, but it is very bronze looking, with not too many colours, kind of... (read more)

i would like to add to your comments about the motorola t720i. i have had mine for a year and a half and i found it to be very good for ages until my wife bought a nokia 3220 and we compared the sound of the polys on it and the motorola sounded really really quiet.i have had the phone in my pocket and not heard it on the maximum loudness and this irritating when i miss an important call.
