Good Points: Good 2*. Great amenities and lovely little beaches if you hunt them out. Great pool and loads of sun beds. Bright clean apartments with balconies. Good time had by all.

Bad Points: Local shops seemed expensive to us, as did the poolside bar, which is not open at weekends. Reception not open often enough. Prefer my apartments to be cleaned more frequently and beds changed more often. Perhaps I should go 3*next year though?

General comments: The Luz Y Mar Apartments in Lanzarote are a 2* facility that gives good value for money. Twelve members of my family stayed there with the ages of 3, 18, 24, 27, 34, 39, 42, 44, 50, 52, 65 and 67, so you can see there was a huge variety! None of us were disappointed by our holiday. Luz Y Mar is great if you want to get away from the noise, but if you want to party taxis are so cheap and frequent there is no problem. Our rep was OK. I never really expect much from them anyway, so I suppose he was better than average as he was frequently around and pleasant. I'm veggie so the food wasn't great, but I'm used to that when I travel. The others in my group had some fantastic meals out (there is no restaurant on site). Our room was in one of the worst positions, as all arrivals and departures passed us, as well as a few tipsy revellers! I'm not really complaining though, this can't be helped, and overall the complex is great. I've marked the review ratings as what you'd expect from 2* accommodation.

We Did not feel safe at Luz Y Mar Apartments. A lady was mugged outside of the apartments when we were there. My children got a bad rash and could not use the pool for almost a week. We were not the only family thats children had rashes. The rep could not care less.
I like lanzarote but would not go back to those apartments again.
It was in a go postion close for shopping and good food.

I Stayed at Luz Y Mar Apartments in the Mar block where all apartments have balconies facing the sun and it's own pool. Staff were very friendly and helpful and I would recommend the apartments to anyone. Apartments were a fair size and it in a good location if you don't want to be kept awake by bars and clubs. They were cleaned only once a week but not a problem if you keep it tidy.

My partner and I stayed in the Luz Y Mar Apartments, for 7 nights. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and layout of the apartments. Most had a poolside view, and the atmosphere appeared very relaxed. However, a few nights into our stay, our neighbours were broken into and robbed, (while they were asleep!!!). The Luz reception staff and the holiday rep, showed little sympathy for this family and had the cheek to tell them they should have been more vigilant. Apparently durin ...

we stayed for a week at the Luz Y Mar Apartments. Over all I rather enjoyed my stay! I love Lanzarote but I will not go back those apartments again. The security guard there was very bad tempered and threatened to kick a few people out of the apartments for something so small as playing music in their apartments. There wasn't 24 hr reception either which was a bit shocking! so if you are looking for a holiday with no fun and early nights then this is the apartments for you!!

Puerto Del Carmen, Luz Y Mar Apartments - After reading the reviews on the "Luz y mar" apartments, worried was not the word!!! But upon ariving at the complex, we were more than pleasantly surprised at the standard of accomodation. We were staying at the "Luz" so I cannot speak for the "Mar" but the rooms were fantastic, we had ceramic hobs, microwaves, full kitchen utensils, the bathroom and bedroom were spacious and clean. All in all, we didn't have a bad word to say about the actual apartment ...

We enjoyed our stay at the Luz Y Mar. The whole complex had been re-furbished a week prior to our stay. The apartments are basic, but have all you need. The staff were friendly and the complex has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The pool and pool area are clean and well kept, although the pool is not heated. There are a few good bars and restaurants locally to the Luz y Mar too.

We found Luz Y Mar Apartments location good, quiet area mind this is in January. 20 minute walk good for digesting very good food served at excellent restaraunts. Endless shops, bars. eateries. 10 minute walk to lovely harbour. People not as friendly as other canary islands we've been to, would return.

My apartment at Puerto Del Carmen Luz Y Mar(205) had a socket and a swith hanging by the wires. The bathroom was filthy with peeling paint and a rusty bath. The kitchen was a health hazard with the sink being held up by the plumbing. The pool caused a rash on EVERY child who swam in it, it was filthy dirty and cleaning it consisted of chucking a bucket of chlorine into it. The hand rail was loose and while we were there a chunk fell off the pool below the water line causing one child to severely ...

If you like to explore then its fine as you don't see the apartments that often, if you hire a car DON'T park on the main road outside the apartments as you will have a ticket by 0800hrs every morning.
A little black cat whom we named Ripley is lovely, she is a stray and will crawl her way into your affections, she loves most foods!!!
You get what you pay for.
When booking will probably say only Mar apartments only.
