Had to go into showroom to order a worktop as couldn't do this online. Showed "designer" sample who said she had to order it. Difficult to get delivery, when it arrived it was the wrong one (unfortunately it arrived at 7.20 am and we didn't check it as carefully as we should have as we had two small granddaughters to look after) - completely different from one we wanted to order. The product looked OK on the web-site and the promise to deliver it on the following Saturday, ahead of the Easter break, for an extra £5 sounded good value, unfortunately having waited in all day nothing arrived. Despite providing contact details to help keep us informed of the delivery we've heard nothing. The sales staff at the Hinckley store gave me all the advice we initially needed and very soon we had planned a kitchen and ordered. When we changed our minds over things they couldnt have been more helpfull. When the contracted fitter Mackenzie interiors came to assess a number of alterations to the original plan were suggested. I brought a Shower for Wickes. The shower after a few months had a faulty temperature control. I went down to my local Wickes and instead of saying you must contact the manufacturer, they took my name and number and sent an engineer to fix it. I cannot fault the service and the price and quality of the items are good. I would recommend waiting around August time as they normally do a 50% sale and then another 25% on top. I oredered everything i needed to revamp my house including rebuilding my garage i placed the order on the thursday at around 4pm and the nice young man at the morecambe store helped me out with calculations for blocks, sand, cement,kitchen units and worktops and many more not only where the staff very helpfull but they said i could get it all delivered the next day as they had everything i needed in stock. Ordered a half glazed exterior door from Wickes. We attempted to order in the local branch in Telford and were told they were not stock items and that we would have to order over the internet. The internet informed that we had to order in shop. Eventually the order was placed over the telephone. So far we have received 5 doors. One was the incorrect door. Due to the recent bad weather conditions and fearful of slipping on our driveway, yesterday 22nd January I phoned the Redditch Store to see if they had supplies of rock salt I could throw on the drive. Spending a great deal online and swallowing the £50 packing fee that was added to my order, I wanted to return a handle. I was told to either drive to a Wicks store or pay a fee for it to be collected. When selling online, returns should be easy and certainly not chargeable. (read more)

Ordered bulky items in the morning for next day delivery and used the Wickes online postcode checker which confirmed next day delivery. Took day off work and no delivery made. Contacted Wickes to be told that they have "problems" delivering to the TN14 and TN16 areas and the postcode checker has not been updated. Have recently check the postcode checker and sure enough Wickes still state next day delivery is available to the above areas. Hmm...Will now be contacting trading standards. (read more)

From enquiring about a new kitchen to delivery everyone was kind and helpful. The kitchen designer was helpful by giving me ideas I would not have thought of. The Caledonia kitchen is wonderful, finished off to a very high standard. I was amazed how easy the units fit together. Free next day delivery sounds too good to be true....it is! Supposed to receive our delivery between midday and 6pm.....at 6pm my partner had waited 1 1/2 hours after he should have finished work for the delivery - when he called up he got to speak to the delivery driver who said he couldnt find the office (which is not difficult to find!). Visited the Watford branch today and what a complete dump it was, there was 1 guy on the till n two youngish looking blokes wondering around on the shop floor, the store was untidy, unkept, basically looked as if it was closing down. certainly didnt look like any of them cared, i did try to get a question answered on a particular type of door lock n the guy didnt really make any effort except to give me a brochure n point me to the area where they were kept. it was empty but for 2 locks in... The delivery then turned up when I was at work even though they were supposed to call me before hand to organise the delivery time. Had to phone to reorganise delivery. As a tradesman i would never go any where else apart from wickes there paint was one of the best i ever used tools where good and youst to get 10% discount. But now it seems to have gone to pot every thing has gone up dramatically new paint is rubbish tool the same' could not believe the difference in prises isolation valves wickes £6.99 each Screwfix £9.99 for a pack of 10. When Wickes told me my order would be delivered between 12 and 6, I naturally assumed they meant after 12 and before 6. Apparently not! So when 6 O'clock came and went and I called customer services, do you think I got an apology? One is entitled to dream! What I actually got was denial of liability. 12 to 6 is a big enough window of opportunity that they set themselves and they confirmed it only that morning. Bought some fence panels and posts late one friday evening, expecting to get a call am sat by the local shop (after reading the terms and conditions), placed the order... Anyone else had problems with a Wickes Belmar toilet cistern? Ours leaks from the inlet pipe. They have been back 3 times but it keeps on leaking. Bought a bath and tap with shower attcahment from www.wickes.co.uk and was very disappointed. Everycorner that could be cut was. For example, for the bath to be level you had to have all the legs at the absolute maximum extenson - the plumber said that by doing this the bath was them unstable. Entirely the fault of management decisions to promote staff from the shop floor who are not up to the job, poor training, staff treated poorly, national minimum wage.
But enjoyable talking to and offering advice to the customers!
Oh well we have move on!!!!
