No way of getting custom pictures / ringtones on or off your phone except through the expensive "Virgin XL" website which has a pitiful number of items. Virgin deliberately cripple the phones to stop you doing anything useful with them.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I purchased virgin USA last night for family to keep in touch since my Father just died. They finally got the kinks worked out this mronign so it would work. However, no signal. I found a place in the house where I could get one line but when I tried to put the phone to my ear or move, I lost the signal. I moved all over testing it to see if there were places it would work, it would work enough to place the call and use time, then lose the signal. I made two calls 4 ...

I have been a customer for several years, using no contract plans for a phone bought off the shelf at a discount store. My first phone's screen went dead after a couple of years of very light use. In general, this is a great plan for someone who wants a phone to use occasionally but not as a primary phone. The reason why my rating is so low is because of customer service -- it's horrible. The on-line choices for top ups don't match the offer we received in an automated phone call ro my home ...

Been a customer for 5 months. I had to port my phone number from T-mobile, it was not very clear to me in the instructions and I had to wait 5-10 minutes to get a real person and everything went well. After that the only corporate services I ever use are the automated ones and they have been fine. I personally find the marketing towards kids irritating, but I'm buying a phone and service not their advertising dept. I'm totally satisfied with the quality of the signal in my area.

I Have been with Virgin Mobile For a year, and the service is terrible where i live. the phones are not very stylish, and i do not like them. I will soon switch to t-mobile, which my friends have. It gets much better service and they have nicer phones. virgin mobile also charges too much for such terrible service. the one good thing is that ringtones and graphics are very custom.

I think that i had wasted my time buying a virginmobile product. You don't get to preview any songs or wallpapers and you don't get free wallpapers or ringtones every once a month.

Virgin Mobile USA Review. For their no-contract phones which you have to activate at least every 3 months with a top-off card, you often end up being cheated of time because of the way they add activation time. Time is added to the date of when you use the card rather than starting from the expiration date of the last card. For example, what happened to me was that I bought 2 cards hoping to add 6 months. But when I added them over 2 days, all that happened was that I got 3 months beyond the ...

I bought the brand new Wildcard phone and immediately had issues. The phone freezes at least every other day which requires me to take the battery out and put it back. Then I discovered that the "bluetooth" in the phone only connects to a headset, there is no sharing of ANYTHING! They lock everything you put on the phone so it cannot be sent. The only reason i have stayed with this company is that no other pre paid service offers a keypad phone for texting.

Rude customer support at Virgin USA. When I first got the phone as a birthday present (and that's the only reason I still keep the phone), the only problem is the coverage. Later I noticed that I was charged more minutes than I used so I called the customer support and all they told me was that it took sometime for their machine to know after I hung up the phone that was why I was charged more than I use and there was nothing they could do, I have to pay for the system delay. Recently, I ...

If you sign up for a monthly plan (auto plan credit card) and the service reboots itself or changes THEY CUT YOU OFF because you may have used your monthly minutes even though you keep paying extra daily until the system understands to put you in a new plan....this has happened to me twice and each time they left me hanging for four hours when I was on a call that cut me off and then cannot do anything to get your phone running because it is a 'SYSTEM PROBLEM'nice try"! C/S people don't do anyt ...

I've been a Virgin subscriber for several years, and just upgraded my old Kyocera cell phone to the new Slider Sonic (which arrived missing the memory card, useless at 32MB, but still annoying). I was very pleased with many of the new features but after spending several hours trying to figure out how to get a bunch of the photos I had taken out of my phone and onto my computer, I called Kyocera technical support (Virgin hung up on me twice when I asked this question) and was informed that the a ...

I use the phone only in emergencies and for the first 2 months, not at all. However, my account was drained and empty. When I investigated, it turns out that Virgin USA was charging 35 cents a day just to be on the network (not for the 'first call of the day', which was stated in the fee schedule). That's not 'pay as you go' the way I understand it or the way they advertise. I don't mind paying for the calls I make from the $20 'top off', but the daily fees are a rip-off. Certainly not obvious t ...

I bought my Virgin USA mobile phone just for emergencies originally, but when I am away from home I use it a lot. It is cheaper to call the next county on this than my home phone.

Virgin USA - The phones and service are definitely aimed towards pre-teen, mall-type people. This is annoying, but you can set the phone up to where you never have to see or use these useless (and expensive) features. In my area of the country, New Orleans, the service is incredible. I've also used the phone in rural areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida with pretty good signal strength and coverage. The minute rates are comparable to other companies with the same type of feat ...

First--the plan Virgin USA offered is ok if you never ever call anyone except for an emergency--but you have to spend 20 bucks to get it going--and if you don't use the minutes well they are lost unless you "top" up for another 20 bucks within 3 months.

One of the phones I gave to my teenage nephew--he's burning 60 bucks a month easily talking to his friends. So I would have been better off getting a regular mobile phone provider.

The other phone I gave to my 69 year old mother who almo ...

Returned the Virgin phone within a few days and switched to Verizon and I could not believe the difference, I could drive for miles and not lose the connection. Downtown in Philly I had a great signal everywhere. With Virgin I would have to walk for blocks out of my way to make a call. Stay away from Virgin and Sprint they both use the same system and they are lousy. Unfortunately Verizon pre pay is more, but what good is cheap service if you can't get a reliable signal?

Virgin offer perfect mobile phones for someone like myself who seldom talks on the phone, but needs to have a phone now due to the lack of pay phones. It is a lot cheaper than shelling out $40-$50 for services that you would not always be using. As an example I used only about 60 min. this month. If I paid $40 for 300+ min. I would be wasteing my money. The reception is great and crystal clear. I think there is excellent coverage and customer support is A+. The only thing is you find yourself pa ...
