I've been with Barclays since 1982 so when I applied for a loan they lent me the money set at a low interest rate. The good thing about this loan was they listened and did not waste their time trying to sell me a loan protection policy like other loan companies have in the past.

Been with Barclays since 1986, until they messed up my loan in June 05. I had no problems with the original loan, I then needed to increase my overdraft - this could not be approved, but they could give me a loan. If someone can explain why I cannot get an extra £500 on my overdraft, but could take a loan our for £2500 more than the overdraft extension that isn't down to commission, let me know!

Contacted Barclays Call Centre and was advised to take the loan option - according t ...

Personally I believe that the above comment is incorrect, when a customer comes into Barclays for a loan/credit card, Barclays can only hand out the information that customer is liable to hear, if the customer is not approved for the product, they are told, if the product is on a variable rate, the member of staff cant tell what the interest rate will be in 6 months time due to tax/inflation, bank staff aren't miracle workers, they only are there to help with and sell the product, bank staff do ...

I recently saw the Barclays ad for their loan and decided to apply online. As a Barclays customer I was able to apply within online banking. The application was really easy, and I got a decision straight away (online) and had the money in my Barclays account the same day. Good work Barclays!

I did find it a little difficult to find loans on the Barclays site, as there were loads of banners for other products, but none for loans.

I took out a Barclays Bank Personal Loan in June and everything went very well, I had a quick decison and the money was in my account about five days later. Now five months on I enquired about increasing my loan and was told I could do this as I had already been approved. I called again to make the request and was told I need a Barlcaycard for the increase, a few weeks later and I have a Barclays credit card. So, with my new card I called again to request the increase. Then I was told I could ...

I have been a loyal customer to barclays for the past six years, using their Additions account package for which I was being charged for. Standard rate of £7.50 plus £11.25 in additional cover for this, that and the other.
You must remember I have never used my overdraft facility, was always in credit and was paying £18.75 a month in bank charges to Barclays.
Recently I went to find out my so called "preferential interest rate"(being a barclays customer of course!!!) for a lo ...
