    Good Points: Very popular and easy to use and great default settings especially for novices


    Bad Points: I scanned my laptop after uninstalling Norton and installing another Av App. It detected a lot of threats and infections.

    Very resource hungry!!!


    General comments: Norton AntiVirus 2004 & Norton Personal Firewall 2004 Bundle does not detect cookies infected and many other infection as well, many other (less popular but effective) Aps available for the same and even for less !!!

    Norton AntiVirus 2004 & Norton Personal Firewall 2004 Bundle worked well as anti-virus, but slowed my machine down to a crawl, caused many problems, and prolonged boot sequence.

    I would not want to use it again :-)

    Even for a beginner like me Norton AntiVirus is user friendly and easily configured.
    It does its job.
    The only drawback for me is that you cannot send email directly to their technical support.

    I did have so many problems with my PC, the last straw was when it caught the Sasser virus and my PC kept shutting down. Since installing Norton System Works and Firewall I have never had any problems since. It scans my PC on startup, does a full system scan every few weeks and installs lives updates every time one is available. All of this is automatic, so I don't need to do anything once the software is installed, it is all done for me.
