The scsi version is very fast, about 8 sec per document. The document feeder holds the alignement of the documents well and very seldom jams. The photo scanning is for the price very accurate in the colors, although an expert photographer or avid enthusiast may prefer the Epson line. The OCR part is often not mention, it use Iris product and is consistenly one of the best. PC Mag has rated slightly below Omnipage. (read more)

The review lacks depth and substance. Does not address the positives of the product, which are many.

HP have a name for quality flatbed scanners and the Scanjet 7450C is an exceptional model and probably the best on the market. I have just bought it so I can't comment yet on long term use. However it gives great resolution from photo negatives. It takes up more room than my previous Agfa Snapscan and is much faster even though I am using the USB interface. The SCSI option should provide an even faster tranfer rate. (read more)
