Good Points: Easy to use.
Bad Points: Very intrusive; slow startup; no control and no feedback.
General comments: McAfee SpamKiller 5.0 was originally a limited but simple and effective product. When McAfee bought the company, they "improved" the product so that it's no longer very effective. It comes with a security control panel that you can't get rid of, starts when you log on to Windows, and adds a lot to the startup time. Control over spam filtering is limited, and once you start, you can't take advantage of updates to the supplied rules. When a message is killed, it doesn't tell you why. After weeks of trying to resolve these and other problems with McAfee's unhelpful support, I finally gave up, uninstalled it, and invoked their money-back guarantee. I was told that that I should have given up sooner - the money back clause expired 30 days after purchase.
