The Fujifilm MX 2700 digital camera is a great snapshot camera. Because of it's size you can take it everywhere. The absence of an optical zoom is a disadvantage, on the other hand this means that the camera has less movable parts. This saves a lot of battery energy, also the 2700 should endure bad treatment better (which is good for a a camera so small you want to carry around all the time).
Forget about the 8MB memory that comes with the thing, go for a 64 or 128MB Smart Media card. Even at highest resolution a 128MB fits over 140 images, that's more than you'll ever get out of a battery load.
The camera also lacks a USB connection, but don't worry, get an external SmartMedia reader to transfer the images. Buy it right away, the transfer of a full 64MB camera over a serial connection takes several hours!

I used this digital camera for over a year and found it fine for general snaps and web images. Towards the end of my use of it however its age began to show and I found I was more and more bothered by the distortion created by the camera's wide angle fixed lens - particularly noticeable on pictures of buildings or items with vertical lines. Better digital camera solutions are now available out there.

I bought an MX2700 after reading these views and adding my budget of sub 400 pounds sterling (negotiated £385 at Jessops). The camera is small and comes with a bag that attaches to your belt so you can take it anywhere (except the swimming pool) without knowing you've got it. I took some indoor pics and am not impressed with the brightness of the results (will tart them up with software though). My outdoor pics are great, well focused. The size of the camera also means I can take pics of my children playing without them knowing. They grin like a cheshire cat if they know they are being photographed. The supplied 8mb card gives 7 photos at 1800x1200 or 47 at 640x480. Battery takes 8 hours to charge but the charge does last. At the end of the day I am very pleased with the sharp quality pictures.

Nice small camera with really good image quality and easy to use menu. Lots of features I'll probably never use once Ive finished playing with it. Downloading pics to my PC takes a long long time. Anyone know what's the best solution for little cost ?
