Bad Points: Older re-issues come with rosewood bridge, witch is a litle unstainble in intonation (that's mine),and plastic chord keys.
Dano changed them both to metal though!!!

General comments: Very lightweight guitar, marvellous tone quality, superb pickups, fits in several rock or hard rock types of playing, easy playing, and last, but first of all, very cheap... blind eye suggestion for starters, or pro's who want something different in sound producing!!!

I have played the Danelectro 56 U2 for about 9 years now and it fits my style. I was influenced by James Burton so the brightness fits me. After 40 years of playing and making a good living at it, I have acquired many guitars, some cheap and some expensive. The expensive ones when I was young and thought they would make me play better... But the Dano has brought me more compliments and interest then all my other guitars combined. SPECS of the Danelectro 56 US Electric Guitar:
-retro tuners, but stay in tune
-lipstick tubes, single coil pickups, but sound like a humbucker when using both
-nearly deep acoustic sound, because of its semi hollow body
-alloy bridge with wood saddle, and thin neck with adjustable truss rod; still requires adjustments to have the desired feel, action and close intonation.

The Danelectro 56 U2 is the end product of the perfect union between a toilet seat and a twig. It is very lightweight and can easily be played for hours.
I use it for the unique tone that will stand out in the mix. Not a guitar for every situation though. Lots of twang and jangling strings if strummed for rhthym and lots of country in the lead. Straight out of the bow it played well but needed some adjustment for the feel I wanted.
