Good Points: amazing in every way

Bad Points: nothing. it's all good

General comments: Epiphone SG Special is an amazing guitar, and pretty much as good as the gibson. everybody who likes electric guitars but doesn't have enough money for a gibson, you should 100% get this one. i've had mine for about 4 years

The Epiphone SG Special is one of my favorite guitars and i only upgraded the pickups to dirty fingers, the pick guard to a custom made guard & locking strap nuts.

I got it for Christmas 2008 (yesterday) and I love it. Good, low action neck, easy as hell to tune, and looks amazing. It has a slightly sticky neck, easily remedied by just sliding your fingers along the sides of the neck, which works fine as long as you don't want to play too fast. But, the G and A strings do tend to slip out of tune a bit. Overall: a great beginner guitar and easy to play. I love it.

Amazing distortion setting. Looks are stunning. Great for ac/dc. I got mine second hand but in top nick for £160. Bad points, There are none. It is a truly amazing guitar. You can get them for a decent price definitely worth investing in.

It's a fine guitar to play. Its not too heavy and as long you keep the strings in good condition it sounds good. I like this Epiphone.

Bought it yesterday and I love it. You can play anything on it. But make sure you have a decent amp also. 20w stagg will do. Epiphone have been making guitars long before Gibson came out and the pickup on this guitar is brilliant. The neck and head are just like the Gibson. Great value for money. Better then any guitar under 300 pounds, due to the already better pickups.

This guitar is sex with strings, I love everything about it, cant keep my hands of it. Keep yer boring Strats! For those who suffer with droopy necks; get a decent wide leather strap, easy peasy!

Well, it's a nice beginner, but hard to play punk with it because of the buzz, maybe I should change strings orso, my relief is 0.3 mm and my action is 2,4 mm for bass and 1,6 mm for treble strings at the 12th fret ... so it should go fine, but it isn't.

Playing while standing seems impossible, the neck keeps pulling down.

The finish is very well done, a real beauty!

It didn't go out of tune, only once, but that was a while after I changed the relief (I did tune it after it), but I thin ...

The Epiphone SG Special is my first guitar. Got it as a graduation present when i decided to start playing. I like how light the guitar is. I'm small so it works out great. The neck is not too big either. It could be smaller but hey, it's not a les paul jr. It has a great sound. I got the Amp that came with it when it was ordered out of Muscianfriends and I love the sound quality. The Strings that came with it were not bad strings, i used them for almost a year, before i had to change them, ...

The 1st time I played an Epiphone SG I was disappointed. It's an outstanding looking guitar, and the pick ups are great, but overall it could be better.

Personally I would save and get an Epiphone Les Paul Standard. If I was looking for an SG but couldn't afford a real Gibson, then I would buy this guitar.

The Epiphone SG Special guitar is good for beginners but I dont like the fret board on it because the strings sometimes rub and the strings that come with the guitar are very......it's hard to explain but I dont like them.

I like the look of the Epiphone SG Special, it has a good warm sound, good sound for metal. Just needs a wammy bar.
