Love the tonal possibilities. Great neck feel. Great intonation if it is a Gibson. The Epiphone isn't bad at all. I think it is a great guitar. The goods out-way the bads. I would definitely recommend this Gibson Les Paul Standard to another guitarist.

The deep humbucker setting on this played through an overdriven tube amp is one of the most famous and immediately recognizable sounds in the history of rock'n'roll. If you want that exact sound, then this is the guitar you need. I will own this for the rest of my life.

Had my Les Paul since 2004 (now 2008) loved every second playing this guitar live or in the studio. I can't stress enough that if you're shopping for a Les Paul please make sure you don't buy the first one you come across unless you know what to look for, some Gibsons i have come across have had questionable quality, such as unfinished frets, Nuts not cut to the right quality, inperfections in the finish. I would strongly advise not to go for any Les Paul lower then the standard model.

I'd just like to say that when i put my hand deep into my pocket a few months back i thought to myself "is this the correct thing to do"... i have to say i have never looked back in such an investment and the guitar suits my bands phycodelic/folk genre. The Gibson Humbucker pickups are truly boss and they can't be beaten in my opinion. The 3.5mm jack just gives that added piece of assurance on stage and the 2 tone paint job is one to be admired. I recommend this stunning piece of guitar makesman ...

If you love the Les Paul sound, then there's nothing to dislike If you're looking for a single coil sound, then buy a fender. I'll take my 98' standard over any prs I've ever played or heard.

Very robust, still looks new, well cared for and recently set up by 'Robbie' at Gibson Uk. Low setting allows for smooth quick playing when needed, it is very forgiving if played hard and a delight when played lightly, it is difficult to get it out of tune, solid. Set up with Marshall amp gives a deep bluesy sound for the 'Gary Moore' solos. Spares are easy to get hold of and upgrading to gold bits and pieces if needed allows for additions to be added if wanted. Great support from Rossetti t ...

My strat was nice, pure show as well, but the sound was there for the highs, not much depth, the learning curve of the Gibson Les Paul electric guitar is there on both. It's like the more you play the nicer the sound.

I rediscovered playing my guitar again and wanted something new. I spent An afternoon trying a whole bunch of guitars, I started with a Les Paul playing through a Peavy which I thought was OK then an SG standard which was OK, great reach to the higher frets but the sound was a bit thin, then an SG 61 reissue with a nice sound but even thinner. Then an American Strat deluxe HSS, didn't like at all, nice neck but no depth, then a Deluxe strat also OK but no soul. Then I picked up the Les Paul ...

Gibson Les Paul Standard: I'm Vinnyguitarman, I've been playing and performing for over 30 years and like to share my thoughts and experiences with guitars. The Gibson Les Paul is the real deal. The finish ,fretwork, sound, looks and and craftsmanship are top of the line. This guitar can obtain ANY tone that you desire with no mods, boosts, tubes ...etc. The only drawback is the very high price, but if you can swing it you'll love it and it will be an investment that will always be worth more th ...

Gibson Les Paul Standard - Purchased an Amber Burst Les Paul. Wasn't sure about choosing between Amber and Sunburst, but I am glad that I did. Wonderful craftmanship. Great pickups. Binding is flawless. Neck is smooth and frets are perfect. I couldn't be happier. Took me a long time to get it, but it was worth the wait!
