I got the card out because I had an interview before my payday and had no suitable clothes. I spent £50, set up my account online, paid the £50 and thought "this is great." I've had the new look store card now for over 4 years and never had a problem with, i would go in store to purchase items use my store card then budget the cost at the end of each month to pay over the phone before 5th of each month. The ikano website is easy and quick to use although i keep forgetting my password :). Shopping online is also quick and easy when using my store card too. This is my first store card and ive had it for about 9months ive had no problems what so ever. The online payment account is so easy and you receive an email around 3 weeks prior to paytime. Yes there are charges if u have a late payment ect but that's pretty standard.. just keep on top of it! Awful! I applied for New Look card a week ago and go a letter this morning explaining I was successful and to sign agreement send back and then I'll recover my card in ten days. I was fobbed into applying for one of these cards in a new look store by a clueless sales advisor who couldn't tell me anything about the pros and cons of the card. I then received the card with arrears on it as it took so long to arrive. Any month it wasn't paid, arrears of £12 were added. I have a New Look Card and find the staff in the New Look shops very helpful and have found the card useful. This post is directed at Ikano who provide the credit for the cards. This card is more hassle than its worth. The new look staff dont seem to sell this card for what it is tricking you into thinking your getting a discount card rather than an actual credt card with all the hidden payments. I had a lot of ttrouble signing on to the online banking system saying something was wrong with one or more of my pass codes each time, however due to me writing the pass codes down i knew they were infact corrrect. Its rubbish im lucky I cancelled it in time you have 14days to withdraw from it or your screwed im so glad I did stress free my friend had it and got in to so much rubbish because statements were not coming on time they were accusing you of not paying. I have had my new look store card for 18 months now. I recieve my statements usually around 2-3 weeks before the bill if due via post. I also use the online service to check payments as I frequently make payments before due. I do not use it every month just when social calendar is busy eg Christmas birthdays summer. I never write reviews but I felt compelled. They chase you for payments before you even get your bill through, many times I was up to date with my account, I was paying them on time, even before the due date I was getting rude snotty phone calls from this woman demanding payment. Her customer servive skills are appauling. I'm now in debt with them as I got made redundant, I asked for a payment plan but they won't give me one. Don't get one the charges are terrible, the attitude of the customer service is disgusting and n one listens. Always getting £12 charge letters because I'm never receiving statements as they don't send them! Due to reckless teenage spending I had previously had a poor credit rating so was over the moon when I was accepted for a store card - and it has done WONDERS for my credit rating!! New Look has always been my favorite shop and the card allows you to try before you buy! I use it all the time and pay the balance off in full when i receive my statement. Ikano / New look are not sending statements therefore there is no way to know the balance owed and/or the date it is due!! Never had any problems since I got my card two years back - I've always been up to date with my payments apart from one occasion where I was a day or two late and incurred a £12 charge...that was my own fault and I never made that mistake again! The benefits you get from being a store card holder are quite good - e.g they send you vouchers and other things with your statements each month and sometimes they're discount ones. They state you get a 60 day cooling off period, you don't. I took out the account less than that and I cancelled it after 4 days. I now apparently owe over £50?? You cannot call them without your customer number and even then it probably will not work. Ikano (the actual company, nothing to do with New Look) has nothing to do with New Look so they cannot even help you in store. New Look workers practically bully you into taking it out and then you get charged double whatever you spent. (read more)

I have never had any problems with my new look store card. I live on a small island so it's not possible to shop in store unless I'm visiting the mainland so I tend to spend alot when I do visit and pay it off of my card each month. The minimum payments are always really low if that's all I can afford to pay some months. Don't bother getting one of these cards, they are a total waste of time. I got one of these cards a few months ago because I was told that I would get a 15% discount on my purchase that day. The New Look Card has helped my husband and myself out loads of times if you don't go mad and spend all your credit limit in one go then it comes in very handy. They will hit you with charges unless you are very very careful. I have incurred late payment fees for paying by cash in store two days before due date. Apparently if you pay in store it can take up to 5 days to go through. Today at the till i found my card had been frozen. It took half an hour to get through to customer services. Having trouble currently as my onine payment cannot be traced tho went out of my account on 28/12/2011. They continued to send me arears notices even tho I explained exactly when and to which account the money went. As with any credit agreement, there are certain rules that must be adhered to.All of these points are written in your contract agreement between you and your lender. Its no good blameing the company when you have missed payments, or failure to pay. You have incurred these costs because you havent kept to your credit agreement. I have read the string of reviews on this page and I agree with you all. THe new look store card is useless and turns out to cost MORE than what you bargained for! B: making cash payment in-store doesn't ensure payment goes though to their bank by the pay by date

I've had a store card since 1998 however the call centre claims I've had it since 2005 (I recall shops that issued store cards did an update in 2005 but never knew records prior to 2005 were lost for account holders).

The new look store card is ok if you are in need of something to wear and are a bit stuck for cash. The reality is that if you make a late payment like me which was only 2days they will add £12 to what you are owed as a late payment fee. Now as the amount on my card was only small anyway I think it is disgusting that they would add such an ammount onto what is owed. The New Look card is awful, so many times I have been hit with late payments after paying in store or faster payments on line. The card does not offer enough discount to warrant the APR you are charged, really not worth it. They also put the limit up for me despite me requesting they don't and when i called them they did nothing about it.

I have had this card for a while now and I had trouble paying it off as I was pregnant and had to live on benefits, I had clocked up about £200 of late fees.

Don't ever even think to ask for one New Look card and don't let any staff member to convince you it is a good think.
I purchased a bra for £18 and when I went to pay the lady in the till told me about the card. She told me I'd get discount paying by direct debit. The card is a complete waste of time. For months i have had to pay extra because THEY keep messing up. Really annoyed with New Look.
I wouldn't even bother wasting your money. The whole reason i got a card was because if i didn't have money on me at the time, i didn't have to go back and forth to the bank when i wanted something.

I owed only £20 on the card and got charged a late payment fee of £12 twice in 2 months - once was because I paid it 1 day late and the other because the payment was due on Christmas day, therefore it became an oversight in my household where I had the snow and ice and a 2 year old to think about. I only agreed to the NewLook store card as my friend needed to make her target for signing people up. I put £40 worth of shopping on it and was pleased that the minimum payment was only about £3.
However,even when i paid in store it still took days to process meaning i had £12 late fees.

I got made redundent and missed a payment of 3 pounds which was 3 days late, i paid it & they still constantly rang my house phone and hounded me, they then sent me a letter with counselling numbers & places to get help with debt!!! I am very disappointed with the customer service policy with New Look. I paid my balance of £12.80 with my debit card in store on the final due date. Unfortunately, this payment was not credited to my account until the next day. Therefore, I have been charged £12.00 for a late payment. I love my new look store card.
The APR rating is low and you can set your own limit.
its easy to go in and pay.
i only have to pay a max of 4 pounds a month after spending 130 pounds.
if i have needed clothes fast for special occasions its very useful ie the races/a wedding/maternity
people who are fooled by the sellers should always read the small print.
if it seems to good to be true it usually is.
