Good Points: Effective for both pressing and steaming garments like jackets etc.

Bad Points: Too often water is emitted instead of steam and it can be cumbersome

General comments: The Tefal 2940 Turbo Pro Express removes creases fairly effectively and refilling is easy. Too often water comes out wetting the garment. We have had two and both stopped the steam function just after a year.

If the product was more reliable, this would be a hot product ie. value of money in terms of price and performance. Overall this is a disappointing product. I would recommend a Laura Star iron ( my last Laura Star lasted 11 years using tap water!)

On my Tefal 2940 random bursts of water are emitted in any direction besides its steam output, could scald the unwary or passer by. Do not let children anywhere near it.Now stopped making steam, its not a year old am trying to sort this out with Tefal.

The Tefal 2940 Turbo Pro Express is more effective in ironing than laundry and more stonge. But the excessive steam produce noisy sound from bottom of it

Was a proud owner of a Tefal 2940 Turbo Pro Express until just after the warranty expired. The steam stopped generating, i did all the normal troubleshooting guides like flushing the system after every ten uses. I continued using the iron but the steam would not come out. Now it's broke, not sure if i will go for another steam generated iron. No after sales available for me as I live in Malta and there are no recognised dealers here-too expensive to ship back to UK for repair. Can't face ironing ...

I was very happy with my Tefal 2940 Turbo Pro Express until the plate would not get more than warm after 18 months light domestic use. After sales were not helpful because the steam iron would need to be shipped to Birmingham UK. I need a first stop engineer to access the problem.

Fine for about a year, then the problems started.

Tefal will only repair the item if you send it to them! No 'high street' service centres across the country will service it for you! Also, Tefal will not send you a replacement cable set so that you can keep the £200 product you've already bought and have many more years of use for a fraction of the cost of a replacement item.
Guess that's how these companies make their money.

I purchased the Tefal Express 18 months ago - it packed up 3 weeks after the 12 month warranty ran out. Cost £35 for repair. Four months later it packed up again - disgusted, I consigned it to the bin.

Fortunately I spotted a replacement in my local LIDL store - appears to be a rebadged Polti steam generator iron for only £48!. This is every bit as good as the Tefal and in some ways better - the handset is far superior and it came with a three year warranty.

I hated Ironing till I used this Iron, it's expensive [approx £230] but when you try it for the first time you will be amazed.

The variable steam pressure from 60-100g/mn plus 130g turbo steam makes all [inc denim] ironing a breeze.

Ironing is normally a hated and unspoken subject, because it's so time consuming and boring. But for once an iron that actually eats creases and reduces a normal 2 hr session into 1 hour !!!! [Eastenders on a sunday has a use !!!]
