Bad Points: I have found none.
General comments: I am not an expert on these kinds of things, but on my brand new Sony I have noticed: minimum use of resources, no conflicts of problems, works automatically. Plus, it has passed every test I have thrown at it from websites that check security, and it has saved me from three nasty infections (trojans and viruses). Plus, it is FREE!
I am happy with Avast. I have used other programs (Norton for one) and have found Avast to be perfect for me.

Brill performance and updates added every day or hour, An excellent anti virus program.
Easy to use and setup and detects viruses others miss, Does not use many system resources and runs excellent. Well recommend Avast Antivirus.

The only thing good about this program is that its antivirus is decent. Other than that, every aspect of it has been poor as far as I am concerned. The interface of this program is really poor in my opinion. There is few updates and it runs really poorly as far as I am concerned. It would be difficult for any novices to computers to use this program. I wouldn't recommend this program to anyone.

Does the job pretty much and very fast updates are refreshing, but about 6 false alarms in about a fortnight was too much, especially when after pouncing it then scanned the whole hard disk on the next boot and found... nothing. Housecall also found nothing. Life is too short to rescan your hard disk every other day.Even the simple interface is far too complicated for anyone other than an advanced user. I would recommend Avast to anyone. Have been running it and nothing else for over a year and not one single problem. The price is right too... FREE! Thanks Avast Anti Virus!

I well recommend Avast AntiVirus, stylish, up to date with all the latest software, simple and effective, but best of all, free! In my experience I do not have anything bad to say about this anti virus software, especially when considering the others I have used.

I have had all sorts of Malware, Root-kit and Trojans in my Vista laptop. Running Norton, AVG and Ad-Aware found nothing. Avast found 3 trojans which have left the back door open for various rootkit. Now the clicking and random sound clips have gone. All for FREE. Many Thanks Avast. Donation on its way

I found that my PC was running very slowly, so on advice from a friend (a senior software developer- so if he thinks it good then it must be worth a look) removed Norton, installed Avast and now my PC is protected and fast again.
Very impressed so far. Well recommend Avast Antivirus.

Overall better than anything i have tried so far !
I have tried many antivirus systems free and purchased and this is my prefered (for now!).
Its better than anything else you can purchse but it's free..
Respect to the Avast Team for a funky piece of useful software!

As computer novice (there are still some left) my machine came with 3 months free norton which seemed to be doing the job. However when random audio clips came through the speakers I ran norton which said my system was secure and took advice and installed avast. I was staggered that it detected 7 trojan's which norton had missed and then gave me the option of what to do with them. Norton uninstalled, avast installed and donation on it's way. Very good and well recommend Avast AntiVirus

Works without taking half your resources and doesn't give the game Fear a false positive like AVG does. (The main reason I switched). Plus its free!
Its free, works, & takes very little resources. What else do you need? Well recommend Avast Antivirus.

Very efficient, lightweight, and detection rate is high compared to others such as Norton, mcAfee, or bitDefender
- The pro version lack an anti-spyware scanner.- No firewall.Highly recommended piece of software.

Very fast, doesn't bog down the computer, automatic updates are fast, detected some Trojans that Norton missed.
Excellent program, and free! Nothing bad for me to say about this Avast Anti virus software therefore I well recommend it to anyone.

Does what it says on the tin, gets rid and stops virus in real time not after they get in. There is nothing I can say that is bad about this Avast anti virus software, the best one I have tried it works thats the main thing who need out else.

100% efficient to protect home computer and small business computer. It has a very low resources requirement Consistent updates to the virus database and program. Works Great & Never Had A Problem.
It is a anti virus integrated spy ware, mail ware & network firewall.

I have been running Avast now for seven months. Initially I thought there was a catch but for the home edition there definitely is not. In a world where nothing comes for free, Avast defies that, it does. This programme updates automatically, runs unobtrusively in the background and whilst there may be a delay in pc performance during updates I have to emphasise it is slight, very slight.
I run the full system scan periodically but as Avast alerts you both audibly and on screen there is litt ...
