  I've used Avast for a couple of years now and it has proved invulnerable so far. Part of that may be because I don't tend to visit dodgy sites, but nothing I have come across has got through. I've recommended this program to several friends who now use it and none of us can find any real problems. Download it, install it, and let it get on with it.

  Avast is the best free, no ,the best anti virus to be had. I've down loaded Avast onto PC's that were riddled with viruses running well known products that could'nt fix it, and Avast has fixed it.It will even point you to tools that will unlock locked files so they can be checked. I've used Free Avast for five years and never had a problem. They never pressure you to pay for their product,no pop ups ,no adverts,brilliant, I feel guilty I've never paid for Avast.

  For a product that's free this is awesome. 2 viruses were picked up straight away that my nod32 missed. I have now put this on two other family members computers. I read a review where someone said it slowed there laptop down and they replaced avast with trend which fixed the problem. My mother used trend on her new laptop which slowed it down really bad. As soon as I took it off and replaced it with avast it went really good? strange that. I feel confident that avast is doing a good job protect ...

  Avast is the best antivirus in my ipinion. It's fast and it has quick updates too. I use the professional version without problems. It detects and removes viruses, trojans, rootkits and keyloggers very easily. I recommend it to all.

  I used Norton and McAfee before and so far, this one is the best. It doesn't slow my system down and catch some malware as well as virus which both Norton and McAfee did not catch for me. I would recommend it to my friend.

  Ive had many Anti-Virus software installed on my laptop. This one is unfortuneatly one of the worst! I took a few attempts to install and actually slowed my machine down. In the end I had to take my laptop to my local Computer Technician who then introduced me to Trend Micro products. Its worth spending the money on a decent package with better support. thanks to http://www.northdigital.co.uk Jay for helping me out on this one.

  Very good anti-virus. Not a resource hog like Norton Symantec which also allowed a number of horrible trojans infect my computer. Plus it's compatible with all my programs and updates are automatic. We have the paid version and are quite happy. Would recommend.

  avast antivirus is a super antivirus , but it has its own disadvantages particularly when comparing other anti virus softwares (free outh there), one problem is its user interface is too hard for the average users to understand,
  yet it is one of the most popular antivirus softwares out there, anti virus database needs updating and they should improve code so that it uses less resources

  Had Norton, McAfee and Kaspersky over the past few years but none of these match Avast. Avast beats them all hands down in that it is simplicity at its best, does not use up resources and gets on with the job. Excellent Program.

  Avast would have to be the best anti virus software ive used it automatically updates and doesn't slow down your computer at all.

  I give it a perfect 5. I am using this anti virus software and I have no complaint, it's fast, reliable, automatic updates is often, and it uses very little resources of my PC unlike other antivirus softwares.
  
  Avast also has free edition for you to try, but if you want more, professional edition is a must. But for personal antivirus protection, the free version is enough.

  Avast works in the background and is non-intrusive. Just install it and it updates itself automatically. It warns you with a loud siren when a virus is detected. It is very good for a free software that it even beats Norton and McAffee.

  As an instructor in computers at our local Senior Center I at one time showed them another free Antivirus program since using Avast I would not use or teach any other program but the free Avast as most of my students are on Social Security and can't afford to buy a virus program even if they wanted to.

  This is absolutely the best freeware product that is out there today. I Can't believe the company would give this product out for free. This could easily be a product that would cost $20-$40 for a yearly subscription and it would be well worth the cost.
  
  Even the installation of the product is an easy download and registration which takes litte time at all.
  
  From a beginning user to an expert user I would definately recommend Avast Antivirus to anyone. Whether it be your home computer or a bus ...

  I had used it before and switched to kaspersky security suite.I always test software on line with mock test virus's and found Avast to be on the ball like the top shelf security, But with out it wanting to run and own your computer, I will not tolerate a security product that over rides my choice of what is safe or not

  I've been using Avast for years and recommend it to anyone that has a personal machine and needs protection. I have not used the corporate edition though but I do expect that it would be as good if not better than the personal version. The client is very light and does not use a lot of memory. I have successfully installed it on a machine running Windows XP home with 256mb of ram.   Well I have been using Avast on Window 7 for some times now. I did not know the reason exactly but my computer keeps on shutting down by itself, so I did some experiment on both software and hardware. As a result, it was unexpectedly maybe because of the my antivirus program. I uninstall it and using other software, well I did not restart again so clcearly because the program did not design for window 7 that's why it did not work properly.
