I visited Jessops last week to look at a new camcorder, the shop assistant gave me some good ideas to think about. “Couldn't be worse.”

Ordered a lens and two filters on Monday which were all in stock for next day delivery. Filled out my delivery details on PayPal, which didn't transfer correctly through to the Jessops system correctly. No delivery on Tuesday, so I contacted Jessops who advised that the address was incorrect, so I supplied the correct details and advised it would be delivered the next day. “ONLINE RESERVATION IS A JOKE”

We reserved a Fuji lens online just before Christmas, and the confirmation gave an in-store pick up of after 2pm on 27 December at the Leeds store. Though not the absolute cheapest source, we felt better about lcal collection than trusting the lens to the post. We selected the text us when it arrives in store option. “Rubbish and unreliable”

Ordered my mums Xmas present 3 weeks ago in jessops in Bromley. It was meant to be a photo calendar of my deceased father. They promised us it would take 7-10days so we'd have it in time. After numerous calls chasing the order, on 23rd dec my husband goes into the shop to speak to them only to find out it was never ordered. “Nottingham store - fantastic staff”

I've been into the store 3-4 times looking at presents for my partner and a lens for myself. I have found them to be very attentive and knowledgable each time I have been in, the staff are clearly enthusiasts. I think quality of service must be very variable depending on the staff in store. We did the same as you yesterday from Loughborough (just 18 miles) but - unlike you - we phoned before leaving as we know people can make mistakes. I'm prone to do so myself. We had a brilliant experience with them in every way. They aren't always the most knowledgeable staff on every product - but yesterday they were.

“Printing 100 scanned photos”

Visited Basingstoke branch today had great help from the advisor who re-sized and cropped my mixed bag of scanned photos ranging in age from the late 1800's to 2013 for an album I am creating of family events for my Mother's 90th birthday this coming weekend. “Newbury Branch - Choose Staff Carefully”

“Customer Service - terrible”

There were problems with my panasonic lumix - this has been the worst retail experience ever and I am aged 56 so have in my years had quite a bit of experience with the retail trade. 4 month old camera had the lens replaced and returned a further two times but no fault diagnosed. Problems with the picture quality, pictures overexposing, but Jessops insisted nothing was wrong advising. I have bought calendars from Jessops for three years now and having also had some produced for family too have never been disappointed. Delivery to store is free and if you catch them while there is a deal on they are very good value - 50% off. The photo books I have ordered too have been of a high standard and I would recommend both of these products to anyone. Once again there are often deals to take advantage of. Totally agree. I have been purchasing their small photo books for years - great quality and in particular the flexibility of including as many photos as you want on each page. I regularly had 4 per page and up to 8 on occasions - at no extra charge. Does anyone know any other company that gives you the same flexibility now that Jessops have gone. Any I have tried so far limit you to one photo per page - mean. I will seriously miss Jessops.

“Don't buy a product, print a photo!”

My husband bought us a small digital camera from Jessops for a trip to Turkey after our old camera had expired! That bit was surprisingly easy! It wasn't until we got to Turkey and took some pics that we noticed a blurry fingerprint in the centre of all of our photos. The camera also had a mind of it's own and kept switching itself on and off, most annoying when trying to take a picture! “Terrible XXL poster print ”

I ordered print of professional photo, which has a lot of details in a shadow. When it finally arrived, after 9 days, it was terrible, picture is too dark and all details in shadow areas are lost. This was big disappointment as my uploaded photo was in great condition, prepared directly by the photographer, and looked great at his exhibition. On top of this print was 1cm bigger (51 x 71 cm), so it would not fit the standard frame without extra cutting. I will not buy any prints from Jessops… Read Full Review
