Good Points: Intelligent, Vocal personality, full of fun, caring, easy to look after, loving, cute,

Bad Points: Expensive to buy (bit worth the extra), temperament is down to the owner i.e. no discipline equals what I like to call EVIL FACE! get one and or upset a Chi and you will know what I mean!

General comments: Smooth coats are most attractive, make sure the ears point. A fantastic companion that will make you laugh (often) and will be loyal and caring. Easy to look after, they are very opinionated and stubborn but that is part of there charm.
The vets review.... take with a pinch of salt...there are no bad Chi's only bad owners, discipline is key when they are puppies.
They are small so you have to be careful but they make good house dogs and are fearless for their size! They are vocal in terms of the noises they make which makes for an entertaining life with them. I would certainly recommend one over any other breed but make sure you buy from a reputable breeder and expect unfortunately to pay £1000+ for a good smooth coat. Ours is called Jimmy (Choo-hua-hua!) and when my wife got him I didn't want him....I love him that much now I could not be without him! you will find that too!

Many owners treat this breed like they are little humans, which makes them very mentally unstable. When this occurs, it brings out the nasty nature of this breed. Give me a Pitbull any day over a Chihuahua when I am in clinic with the doctor! While there are exceptions to every rule, I would not suggest this br ...

I would recomend a chihuahua for any age, I like the smooth coat best as you dont have to groom as often, also very cute, a wonderful dog.

My Chihuahua is a very adorable little dog. I have owned Chihuahuas for over 22 years and would hate to be without. Long coated are prettiest although do need a bit of grooming to keep coat silky and smooth. They love to roll when out walking. Great dog for the elderly as it is faithful to the end. Will comfort its owner when distressed. They do not have to have long walks and are happy just to run in and out in the garden. Can be left and will welcome you home. They can be fussy eaters and pref ...
