PayPal promote their buyers protection plan, but read the fine print. If you use your PayPal account to pay for services or intangible items then they will no cover. " PayPal Purchase Protection does not cover virtual or intangible items, which means that this payment is not eligible for the dispute resolution process. PayPal Purchase Protection only applies to tangible, physical goods that can be shipped. Payments for intangible items, services, licenses, or other digital content are not eligible for dispute resolution." Official from PayPal

The first thing I don't like about PayPal is that everything takes ages unless you connect your credit card to your PayPal account. It is extremely unsecure and someone can get an access to your whole money. And if you transfer money from your bank account onto your PayPal, it takes at least three days! Another annoying thing is that you are forced to use PayPal on ebay. There is no other way to get the things without being suspicious to other ebayers when you avoid PayPal. So eBay is the only place I still HAVE to use PayPal. For my other Internet payments I choose alternative options - traditional credit card for booking tickets and flights, and paysafecard for online games, facebook and other small things. So. PayPal works. But it's slow, takes extra fees for each transaction, you hate it but you have to use it if you want to shop on eBay.

I am having PayPal long time. It is bit expensive but It is easy to setup and use. If you compare with long term contract this is far better

You see, my experience with Paypal was kinda mixed. I tried my best to avoid giving my credit card details to the actual vendor in the imported coffee website. I logged into Paypal, and created an account. Now, Paypal didn't authorize my account immediately. They made a point to check my credit card or something. So it took 24 hours. Then, I got an email that my card was charged by Paypal to verify it or something. ok. Not sure why they needed to do that. All I wanted was to buy a 9,99 pound coffee from Jamaica. The thing is that now the connection between Paypal and the coffee place was broken. Everytime I pressed on the little paypal icon, I got a weird rejection or an error. Annoying! I don't understand why should paypal advertise that they work with a site when they don't really. Eventually, I had to give my credit card details to the vendor. Not really the point of the entire thing I was trying to achieve, right? And the outcome? My card details and my identity (hopefully) weren't stolen, but Paypal is spamming me so I had to put them in my junk mail filter in Gmail. It wasn't really worth it, really, right?

PayPal is ok, but I received an e-mail to my work e-mail address saying my PayPal account had been limited. Do you think I can get an enquiry specific response?! No!! I'm presuming the e-mail was a fake as I have never used my work address for PayPal, it's government related, but I just cannot get a response from PayPal - they send me general automated information. Same as e-bay, ok so long as you don't have a query. Not impressed and really rather concerned as PayPal is a financial-related site.

I mean really, charging someone a few quid just to send some cash to a friend I think the fee was a little steep considering it was a small amount of cash I was sending. Please PayPal please review your damn charges! You make a ton of cash anyway so why not pass along some of the profit by reducing your fees and making your website easier to use!

I had to return an item to a seller because it was not as described. Thought it would be more secure to do this via Paypal Resolution Centre but after 2 months of deliberation, they sided with the seller who got both the money and the item. If it were a small amount I wouldn't mind but £150 is not an easy amount to write off, particularly since I did nothing wrong. I even had to call PP on numerous occasions to find out what was happening as their standard e-mails gave no clue. In future I will resolve my problems in another way.

Although the customer service is bad, I have to say paypal is incredibly useful and efficient. I think most people have good esperiences but because its such a big website they don't bother to write about it.

I've used Paypal for about four years and never had a problem. The only incident I've had is when a bought a laptop from someone and it never arrived. Paypal quickly dealt with it and refunded my payment. I sell quite a lot on Ebay and do find Paypal charges rather excessive. On the whole quite a decent service but you have to beware of scammers and charges.
