Firstly i would just like to say that i previously owned a pair of koda before these and they lasted me 6 an half years. I think they are brilliant same performance as ghd but a far better price tag. Results on my hair are nice and straight, shiny and lasting effects, heat up quickly and glides through hair without snagging. what more could you ask for! fingers crossed i get 6yrs out of this pair hey! ...

i owned my kodos for around 8 years, they never let me down, i dropped them and they broke so now i'm looking for some new ones. they heated up quickly even after 8 years. i used them every day. they didnt damage my hair. my sister has ghd and i find my kodos work better and give a better finish then ghd. they made my hair feel healthy and so smooth. i kept expecting them to break as i had had them for so long but i'm sure they would still be working now and lasted for many more years. ...

Well what can i say these kodo straightners are BRILLIANT ...after searching the net and reading reviews of every straighhtner on the market i decided to go for the creative 2008 model . I have used ghd for many years and mine have just died and due to xmas coming up couldnt afford new Ghds. I bought kodo instead as they are 1/4 of the price . They are just as good as ghds . very easy to use , no snagging and the have left my hair super straight and looking very good if i say so myself :). They...

My pair of Kodo Hair Straighteners were given to me by my sister when she got GHD's, as my straighteners broke. I can honestly say they are the best straighteners I've ever had! They are not too heavy, they grip hair nicely and heat up quickly. Mine were about 6 years old and have recently broken but I will definitely be getting a new pair shortly its just choosing which ones I want to get. My friend that used them owns GHD's she said they are better at curling hair than GHD's. They are quite cheap...

I have had my Kodo's for 6 years and bought them from my hairdressers for £85. I use the straighteners more or less everyday as I have fizzy thick hair and these are fab for me. They heat up quick, are light weight and fantastic value. Unfortunately today they died on me half way through doing my hair and borrowed my friends GHDs, which were fine but much prefer my Kodo's, so off out today to purchase another pair....

I had my previous Kodo's thorough my hair dressers 6 years ago and paid £110. I have really thick frizzy red hair and they worked perfectly, i used them about 4 times a week, there was no need to use them every day as they did a perfect job. Heated extremely quickly and stayed the same temp throughout use. I have contacted the seller and will be sending them back and i am not satisfied with the product. I am now on the look out for new ones. I have been informed that FHIs are quite good...

I feel annoyed that people are putting on here that they keep getting split end etc, i believe they may have had the temperature too high (the full 210 degrees is for thick curly hair) as for snagging i have never ever had this problem, i really think that they are straightening their hair wrong! Kinks?! With Kodo's there are none. I would recommend Kodo's over GHD's....

Kodo Hair Straighteners - I have very thick and natural curly and frizzy hair. I had struggled to find the best hair straightener for me and I had bought many many of them however they had seemed to be useless because when I only went out my hair started to wave etc. Kodo is the best. It keeps my hair straight for long, even GHD was not good enough for my hair. I'm definitely happy with them. Plus they are not as expensive as GHD. In my opinion GHD are a bit over rated....

I love my Kodo hair straightener's. I bought them as a back-up to my GHD's (which were constantly blowing up on me) - and soon reverted to using my Kodo's every day. I've had them 3 years now and love them to bits. They've never, ever let me down, and don't pull or snag my hair like my GHD's did. Aparrently its common for these straighteners to blow up. Many companies have stopped stocking them after people sent them back complaining about the sparks. There is also reason to think that they may be overheating, which to a user is a good thing-straighter hair in less time - BUT it eventually ends up breaking them. I have had mine 2 years. They were good but have since broke-sparks. Fox are meant to be a 'replacement' model made by the same company.

stewarty1989 I can assure you it is not a load of rubbish. Both pairs of kodo's that I had sparked up and the wire broke. Dont know why you think this is rubbish, but any way who cares. I know that I would never buy a pair of kodos again and am quite happy now with my new ghd's.

Well let me assure you something!! GHD's are rubbish, they pull out your hair, your only get 2 weeks guarantee, and they're known for blowing up, all my friends have them and that has happened to them, I was going to get a pair of them myself, until I asked someone and she told me I'd be better off with Kodo's, and too right about it because I am!
Written on: 30/11/2005
GHD's are the best. As if all the celebs use them when they blow up and all the rubbish you say. They are expensive and that is why. Quality is what you get with ghd's. If you want something cheap and cheerful that won't last go with kodo. GHD are good quality and last! They do not blow up like kodos do!

Cheap and cheerful. GHD are quality. You will be eating your own words when your Kodo's blow up and the cable burns up. As far as I'm concerned you crack on with your cheap straighteners, and by the time you're on your 3rd pair of Kodo's I will still be using my trusty old GHD's!
Written on: 20/12/2005
On reading your review - I have bought two Kodo straighteners in the past two years. The first one I had replaced but the second time it was over the guarantee period. It seems to be the same fault coming from the top of the cord and they just will not heat up. I do not wish to pay £80 for GHD so I have resulted in purchasing another pair of Kodo's as when they do work are fantastic - but I am beginning to think that the workmanship may not be as good as with the GHD's. I hope to get more than a year out of my next pair - if not, then they really are not worth it as they are a little unreliable to say the least.

My daughter's Kodos just blew up whilst she was using them, does anyone know how I can contact Kodo as a matter of urgency?
Written on: 27/11/2008
My kodo's have lasted 4 years and still going strong! They cost me £80 at the time but are cheaper now for a creative, however the Sakarra and Mikado have been released by Kodo which are more expensive and safer.
<br/>I had 2 pairs of GHD's and these both blew up with sparks flying from where the cable attaches to the iron - so it's nothing to do with KODO's being 'cheap' - i think it's something that can happen to any iron with overuse.

I have got straight hair, but it always tends to kink and go a bit frizzy. I used all the Babyliss straighteners out there before July 2003 and they never used to keep my hair straight and looking good, as after a bad storm or a lot of wind, or humid weather my hair would go back to its normal look.
