Good Points: Fast, fun, handles well and it is beautiful.

Bad Points: Too expensive for parts, the later ones got ugly with their stupid big bumpers and ugly black plastic grills.

General comments: One of the original sport sedans. The precurser to the M3 and it only weighs 2000LBS. The all aluminum grills on the pre 73 2002's look the best as do the european bumpers and the little round tail lights. The fuel injected 130HP 2000cc overhead cam motor was used up into the eighties and was used as a race motor putting out upwards of 1500Hp at 45psi of boost. these insane race motors only displaced 1.4 liters and used the same crank bearings as the production motors. A turbo charged version was offered starting in 1974 and 170 Hp and a five speed in 74 was pretty hot. They handle and a supportive aftermarket makes them both fun and reliable. Webbers and turbos are just the beginning of what can be done to these cars. Many people opt to swap an S14 from an E30 M3 which makes the car fly. More adventurous souls vote for an M20 six cylander and a five speed, four wheel, disc brakes, a turbo etc. all in all an awesome car.
