    Good Points: Smiling, friendly, helpful staff. Wonderful weather. Beautiful hotel and grounds.


    Bad Points: Whole island not quite ready for tourism.


    General comments: We were one of three couples that visited the Marriott Resort and Emerald Casino on Feb 27 - Mar 7. We encountered smiling, friendly, helpful staff everywhere we went. The weather couldn't have been much better (78 - 82F, sunny, 15 - 20mph constant breezes). I had read mixed reviews about quality of food (before going); however, I can honestly say that we had great meals wherever we ate. For gaming people, the Emerald Casino is smaller than we are used to, but in this case, smaller was better. We got to know most of the casino staff, who we found to be helpful and responsive (especially Harry, who although young, seems to relate to all ages extremely well). I would heartily recommend the Marriott to all who are looking for a special vacation experience. As sort of a footnote, the ease of going and coming through Curacao Customs was the best we've seen anywhere in the Caribbean.
