Good Points: Well laid out, tranquil, with many magnificent mature trees to offer a little shade on the hottest days. Good, clean restroom facilities and a very reasonably priced bottled water service.

Bad Points: Mildly distracting to be approached by some people claiming to be official guides. We found they tended to disappear quickly when asked to produce their "official" accreditation.
A number of the plants and trees were missing identity labels, which would have been helpful to anyone not having some knowledge of tropical plants.

General comments: I visited Trinidad on a cruise from UK and as we were only in Port of Spain for a day, the time available to spend in The Botanical Gardens was all to short. As a hobby grower of tropicals, it was great to see so many specimens that I struggle to grow in my heated houses in UK in their natural beauty. Particular favourites were the Bauhinias, Spathodeas (the yellow one was quite a new experience) and a couple I have yet to identify. I may yet be in contact with the gardens for an ident of the pictures I took.
Hope to return for a longer visit.
