Awful, dirty and dated not to mention smelly. We stayed in a hut (chalet) at the bottom of a hill, when it rained the water surrounded our hut. The smell of damp hit you as soon as you came in. Lighting was a joke, no bed side lamps very dim over head lighting. Not enough plug sockets. Not enough plates or knives. Swimming pool too small for the amount of people using it. My advice is stay somewhere else. We came home a day early as we had had enough. Peran Porth itself is a lovely place. Pity we had such a let down holiday .

Myself, Partner & 2 children stayed at the campsite October 2009. It was our first family & camping holiday and we had a great time. We stayed in a Prestige caravan which was clean & close to the entertainment centre & shop. Evening entertainment was very good the children joined in with the activities & were up until midnight (they are 4 & 1). The only faults we have are the pool opening and closing times. Also on our first night we went to the restuarant and were told there was a 50min wait fo ...

there is entertainment on every nite for evry age group although i thought the shallys was disgusting it said seating for 5 and there was only 3 seats there excuse was there was no more room to put further seating (even no we paid for the 5 people shally)they told us to use the wooden chairs from the dinner table to sit on.
the cooker was disgusting we wudnt even cook off it and the fridge and freezer was all ru ...

Just came back from August holiday at Perran Sands. The location of the site is good between Perranporth and Newquay. Given we paid just under £1000 for a week in a chalet the accomodation was DREADFUL! damp and dirty with the cheapest of iron beds you could possibly imagine. Really not a place that you would want to spend more than five minutes. Haven must be making shed loads of money if lots of people are paying 1000 pounds for what is effectively a "shoebox slum".

Haven Holidays, Perran Sands - Well Me and my family (including;;2 oaps, 3 teenagers, 2 children under 12, 6 adults been 22- 44 and a dog) we was promised all 4 caravans would be next to each other, haven called my dad a number of times during the year (before our holiday) to ask him a few questions and that, my dad asked very time if the caravans would be next to each other and he was told YES everytime. When we got there (15/8/09) the reception staff spoke 2 my mom like crap saying she was lyi ...

Visited Perran Sands between 9/08/09-23/08/09 with a touring caravan, good end pitch with waste and water close by. toilets and shower blocks were a long walk, but the blue facilities were a little cramped but normally clean and to be honest the times that the facilities were dirty was due to other campers poor hygiene habits! I found the staff to be helpful and friendly and were constanly picking up litter that fellow campers have dropped!! The downside was the shop prices, I have been camping ...

Overall very disappointing. Only good thing was the Perran Sands location. The site itself needs a major revamp. Toilets in the clubhouse etc were all dirty and very old. The whole place generally felt grubby. We have stayed on other Haven sites and this makes Littlesea in Weymouth amazing. The only reason we stayed with Haven is because my 2 year old is obsessed with Rory the Tiger but Rory only came out for the character show once during our 4 night stay, so he was distraught! Haven mar ...

Just returned from 7 nights at Haven perran sands. We were on the camp site. We loved the area but the site was very disappointing. The shower and toilet block was discusting and the entertainment was extremely diappointing. The camp site was full so they are definately making a good profit from campers and spending it elsewhere. There were holes in the toilet doors, no cover over half of the drain area and broken sky lights. No facilities in yellow block for young children to be washed (show ...

We have just got back from Perran sands(Haven).Firstly I would say it is the most fantastic location.
We stayed in a tent(our own) and paid nearly £400 for the week which I thought was very over priced. The pitches were small and our bedroom backed onto another tents bedroom allowing just a 4 foot gap.
The toilets/shower blocks were the worst we had ever encountered.Filthy dirty at most times of the day.The toilet attendant seemed to stand around half heartedly mopping the floor(that's when ...

Perran Sands is amazing. Me and my family started going there about 9 years ago. We then became owners and are still going at least 8 times year now. The indoor and outdoor pools are great. There is also basketball court/football pitch, a family golf course, 2amusement arcades and a beach on site.
The 2009 evening entertainment is the best.We have watched every show at leats 10 times it's that good. Summer High is an up-beat show packed with great songs and amazing dance routines from High Sch ...

Was appauled by the Haven Holidays bad reviews and felt i had to tell you about our holiday to perran sands last june 08. We were amazed by the location of the caravan as it was on the cliffs overlooking the beach, the view was astounding, the caravan had a wooden veranda with a table and chairs , so we could watch the lifeguards playing with seals in the mornings. the caravan was clean and had everything we needed. the beach is fantastic, you can walk down steep steps or walk over the cliffs wh ...

My husband and I went to Perran Sands the first week in July. I would say same as everyone else, save a fortune and book through a private owner. We had a 35' x 12' two bedroomed caravan (2 toilets) for £325. Same caravan through the site was over £600. Caravan was beautiful. Downside was it was sited exctly one mile from the shop and amenities, so it was a two mile walk through the site to fetch a morning paper, etc. Passes for entertainment/pool/amusements would have cost us £ ...

Ideal place to base yourself but I have found Haven Holidays a complete rip off! We have 2 small children and rented the chalet off a private owner knowing we would have to pay to use the pool and entertainment, not being a lover of social club style entertainment we were only going to pay for a daily pass if the weather was too bad to get about, we then found out the minimum was a 3 or 4 day pass £27 per adult and about £16 per child.
The beach looks fantastic but access from the si ...

If you are going to book a caravan or chalet do it privately not through Haven, the Perran Sands site is really nice with big dunes and a fantastic beach but to access it through the site you will need to be quite fit, also if you wish to have a daily pass for the club/pool forget it, Haven will only give out 3 or 4 day passes minimum, the cheapest being £27 per adult or £16 per child, local taxi very friendly and recommend the Sunset Bar on the beach front hotel Perran Porth, also T ...

The most momentous mistake I have ever made booking a holiday on the internet. At Perran Sands the accommodation appeared to be an ex military barracks furnished from a car boot sale. Probably ideal for a group of lads wanting a week surfing. Quite noisy at night with people drifting about till the early hours. The onsite swimming pool is housed in what can be described as a shed.

oh god, what can i say about perran sands?.you drive down a b road and turn right into perran sands, then another half mile over dozens of bone rattlinly high speed ramps which even at 2mph hurts...beter to carry the car...you get to the so called arrival area where you are greeted by caravans in sand dunes, over muddy unmade tracks to the door, sand sand everywhere, like being in the desert, then its miles to walk to perranporth, down a very steep hill...you could always do the desert rat route and tr ...

Just got back from Perran Sands. It was brilliant. Took a baby, a toddler, a teenager, my husband and our two dogs. Everyone was happy with what was on offer at the site, the surrounding area, and the beach. The biggest plus point for us was the massive dog walking area next to the site which meant we didn't have to search for somewhere suitable to walk the dogs each morning and evening, and there are bins for dog waste. You can take dogs on the beach too. The chalet, although standard, was well ...

we went to perran sands holiday park at the end of june and we thought it was a great place the caravan was standard but it was clean and tidy with everything u needed, the staff were friendly and helpful. The park itself is very clean with planty to do for all ages,u are surrounded by sand dunes and are by the sea but the walk to the beach is so steep its a killer coming back up especially when its hot but other than that it was a great holiday and we will defo go back .
