my call lasted 0.34 seconds and I was charged £5.96. Came on this page to see if it was a mistake but reading other comments it now looks as though it's just that kind of Company'.

It's hard to know where to start. What kind of company makes its money in this way? They charged me £8.55 for providing one number. No onward connection. Just one number I could've googled if they'd made their charges clear at the outset. In fact, it would've been cheaper to phone New Zealand and ask my sister to google it. There is nothing to recommend this company.

About a week ago I was involved in an accident on one of our UK Motorways. Being stuck out in the middle of nowhere I had no choice but to use the 118888 service to call the Police, the RAC and my Insurers using my mobile telephone. All a necessity but when my mobile telephone service provider sent me my bill to say I was shocked at what I was charged for making these calls would be a gross understatement, just over £64 according to my mobile telephone bill. I am at a complete loss as to understand how 118888 can get away with making such charges? However, 118888 be aware I will never again use your service.

£6 charge asking for a local number to be sent as a text. Rude operator. Never, ever again.

Just been charged £60.62 for an 18 minute call to 118 888! I will NEVER use this service again - it's easily the worst value telephone directory in the UK!

I feel that I have been taken for a ride at no time was the cost of the call raised beware??

One of my users placed a call to directory and must have allowed them to connect him 12 mins £36.57. There are no warnings of the exorbitant fees that this company charges. Worst of all my user has premium number barred. Apparently they have landline numbers to work round this restriction so they are fully aware of what they are doing. If you search on google from a mobile it can return numbers which access the premium service which are not premium tagged hence allowing users the ability to inadvertently hit their service. These rates are shocking and EE claim that is the only way the users phone may have accessed their services!

I phoned this from my mobile and asked not to be connected. I got no text detailing the number and was charged £4.17 for the privilege. This is unacceptable.

I rang 118888 twice to just get a Number not to be put through and the bill came to £17 92,  the goverment should look into this company, I will contact the press as I am furious about this. I had to put a 1 star should be minus 5

Just got the phone bill and every 30 second call to 118888 cost just over £4.167 each. This is just a rip off.

I paid £12.847 for a 3:05 call and they couldn't find it! I'm deleting this service from me phone immediately.

I was charged £4.57 for ! min 50secs. This makes payday loan companies sound like charities. Is there no regulatory organisation which monitors these outfits£

Absolute scandalous! I have just received my phone bill only to find 118 have charged me £6.21 for a 2.29 mins call. Absolute RIP OFF, what more can I say. It is hard to believe that companies like this are able to get away with charging these prices. Just don't use this service!!!!

A call of 55 seconds to a Directory Enquiries given by an Apps on my Galaxy 4 what number 1118888 appeared later in their answering message of cost me £ 8.oo 8 for 55 seconds x 60 minutes x 24 hours x 365 days --------------------- = £ 4,204 800. 00 4 millions 2 hundreds 4 thousands 8 hundreds pounds a year. I guess U.K is good place to make money for someone with no scruples.

I was charged £22 for a 9 min call i felt like id been mugged i would recomemd people stay away from this direct inquiry unless you want a large fon bill

I was charged over £17 for a 6 minute 3 second call!!! There was no message to tell me about their exhorbitant charges beforehand or I would have cancelled the call. This kind of charging is a scandal. How do these companies get away with it? Will never use them again.
