“Extremely disappointed, poor customer service and...”

I have purchased two items from la redoute. The reason I bought from them was because of the bargain prices and various promotions it seems to always be having. For my first order I waited over a month and a half to receive, I couldn't argue with the price but personally it wasn't worth the hassle. I can count on 1 hand how many times I have ordered from La Redoute and my latest encounter reminds me why. I ordered some shoes online and entered a code for free P&P. The code was accepted & the P&P removed from my online order. Received my statement in the post yesterday and a charge for P&P has been applied to my account. “Shamefull customer service”

Have spent the best part of 2 hours (nobody answered so I gave up) on hold trying to exchange jeans sent to me that were not the size requested. Have probably spent more on the phone call than on the jeans. Pathetic. (read more)

I've read the reviews before purchasing and was ready for the worst, though the deal was a real bargain so I didn't care of a bit of struggle. I ordered on Sunday evening, on Monday the order has been processed, on Tuesday the parcel has been produced and on Wednesday morning I had it in my hands. Like a number of people I had problems with the website, duplication of orders, unable to make contact etc. but I private messaged them on their Facebook page and e-mailed the customer service adviser whose details appear on other reviewers comments, and within minutes my problems were sorted to high satisfaction. “Poor and rude service from a time wasting company”

Firstly, I placed my order online and was told I needed to resubmit my order but for NO given reason and I did so on a separate account but the site was under maintenance so I couldn't. “They do not want customers”

Well, I liked Laredoute for choice, reasonable price and time from time a bargain when combined with promotions. But over the past year and a half the quality of their clothing line went significantly down, the customer service is in place but for gathering complaints rather and that they can't resolve. The promotions became bogus and the free gifts promised got seldom included into my parcels. Instead they are just 'cutting trees' sending these never ending worthless promotions jamming... “Dreadful! A complete waste of time!”

I have ordered (or tried to order) twice from La Redoute and both times things went horribly wrong! The first time I ordered, they repeatedly sent me the wrong sizes. The second time - and the last time - I was told that the goods I'd been waiting for had been returned as the courier company had tried to deliver three times when I hadn't been in. That's exactly what I want to say. This is the first time I used La Redoute. I thought it would be good but it turns out to be totally rubbish. They despatched the items 2WEEKS after I placed the order and I sent two emails to them but never got reply. Their service is really poor. I will never ever buy things from them!

“Absolute Rubbish”

Have used La Redoute a handful of times with always the same outcome - my items are always cancelled, due to the item already being sold out. When placing an order, this will generally happen to 5 out of 6 items. Will never use them again. I would advise you not to use La Redoute. Their products are nice so it is a shame that their service is so bad. The auto-response you receive after you've sent them an email is a clue; they promise a response "within seven days"!! Have you ever heard anything like it? Do they want our business?! “Very poor experience”

Placed an order with them two weeks ago. When neither the order nor any information had arrived after a week (except the initial order confirmation), I contacted customer services, who told me they were still waiting for the item to arrive from France. Another week later, still nothing, and now the order shows up on the online account as cancelled! I didn't cancel anything, and the item is still showing as available on the website. Very irritating. Update: Just had a talk with (name removed) and she explained what had caused the cancellation and the failure to notify me about it. It looks like my order is actually currently waiting to be despatched from the UK warehouse, and now it's been "un-cancelled" hopefully all is sorted.

“No free gift”

I saw an online deal with La Redoute that if you spent a certain amount you would receive a free duffle coat with your order. I submitted my order and qualified for the coat. My parcel arrived a few days later with no coat even though it was marked on the delivery note as included in the parcel. What I did get was a £20 voucher for the La Redoute website saying that the coat was out of stock. Yes, I could order by telephone but you don't always get the discounts because some of the staff are a bit moronic in my opinion. You cannot change your order once placed either. Since I wrote my initial review I've had a much more pleasant experience. A customer relations manager called me and was very apologetic and suggested offering me a discount on another coat, unfortunately the one I originally wanted would not be coming back into stock, however I found an alternative and was offered a discount. I received the coat within 48 hours and it's a lovely coat which fits perfectly.

Thank you for dealing with the matter. I received the refund today as discussed on the telephone, however something which wasn't mentioned was that I wouldn't receive the full amount paid - the postage I paid for a parcel that never got delivered?

Very glad to have received nearly all of what i paid back but that is the problem, its NEARLY all of my money I paid, in fact the delivery money not being given back is a bit of a joke being that the parcel never got delivered.

I received a letter from the courier to fill in and post back to confirm that I do not in fact have a porch which they had said they left the parcel in, I've sent them the letter filled in and signed back - once they get that letter will I also get my delivery money back?

“Dodgy Accounts”

I was charged twice for postage and packing on a top I bought in August. This was £7.98. The top was £8.20. I noticed this when I checked my statements. I am being charged again for this top in spite of having paid for it in August together with £7.98 delivery charges. I was not on my toes in August. After a zillion emails the charge is still there on my account and I am treated as a big inconvenient nuisance. This has motivated me to go through all my statements thoroughly. (read more)

“4 duplicated orders”

I received 4 duplicate orders all the same sizes. I returned them all, then sent 2 emails pointing out that I had been charged £3.99 4 times for items I hadn't ordered. This was ignored and I have £15.96 on my account for delivery of parcels that I never asked for. When I phoned I was told to use a different search engine. Ordered 2 pieces and paid right away with Paypal. 6 weeks passed and not receiving anything. Called multiple times (international long distance calls!!!) and had been put on hold forever. I've ordered from la redoute for years with no problems. i got an email today for a 50% sale. i looked at a pair of boots that were £66.50.They were originally £95.00. They are on the back page of the current catalogue at £59 what a rip off . “Lousy website, and unstoppable flow of catalogues”

Some nice clothes in some of La Redoute's ranges, but overall, the quality of their clothes is not good. Delivery is sporadic and unprofessional and items do get left on the doorstep. (The main aim of the deliverers seems to be to get rid of the delivery.) I have recently placed an order with LR but just because I was away, their courier decided to leave the parcel in my rubbish bin along with my child nappies... Our council service collects rubbish twice a week so untill I arrived home, the order was collected.. unfortunatelly not by me but by rubbish collector... “Consistently send the wrong sizes.”

1st order they sent 2 out of 3 things in the wrong size, I was gutted as the top I wanted looked gorgeous on it was just miles too big. Thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and ordered a second time, this time 6 items. 4 of the items sent were the wrong size. The smallest size they sent was a size 8, the largest a 16. “Can't cancel or modify an order over the phone!!”

I've ordered a faux-leather jacket last night but by mistake I've ordered the wrong colour. I have ordered from laredoute twice. They have nice clothes on their website, its cheap and clothes are of a reasonable quality for what you pay. However the service is terrible and i would say go elsewhere, there is loads of competition out there and if they won't put in the effort why give them your money. Terrible execution of orders - always a wrong item sent. “Nightmare Experience”

Work case of terrible customer service I have ever experienced. Rude staff, order over 5 months late with no comunication or update. Had to find things out myself by constantly phoning and emailing. It's 'computer says no' at La Redoute. What a shower, I will never use them again. From 'duplicating' my email address so that I couldn't either sign-in or track my order to insisting that being held in a french warehouse equals being in stock in the UK their system stinks.
