I bought a storage unit in August 2012. I am a competent person and constructed it despite the imaginative instructions. In October one of the draws fell apart leaving small metal catches scattered about, not great with a 10 month old crawling about. This company combines the two worst traits for an online business, poor customer service and high prices. Although their product selection is interesting you can definitely find the same items on other websites for less. More frustrating is their poor customer service and lack of initiative when trying to solve a problem. They managed to send a package to the wrong address and admitted it was their fault but then asked me to come up with the solution of getting things remained. (read more)

I ordered a kitchen 3 weeks a go for my daughters birthday still not here, 9 phone calls later and three e mails which haven't even been responded too and still no kitchen. They have said the delivery service they used keep trying to deliver which is rubbish as I have stayed in for the last three weeks. I ordered a hairbrush and mirror set as a Xmas present for my 5 year old granddaughter which I had personalised with her name. When it came it was not acceptable as it stated "suitable for 3+ years", when in fact it was just a tiny baby brush and mirror. I ordered product L1625 – Play Shop and Theatre from the GLTC on 27 Oct 12. The goods then arrived in a timely fashion. Then on 1 Nov 12 the GLTC advised me that this product was part of a recall because it could not be assembled due to a manufacturing defect. My product was not in the affected batch. Despite having pretty good catalogue content GLTC have a shocking customer service and unfair delivery policies. I tried to take advantage of a free next day delivery promotion and was shocked to discover that I wasn't entitled to as I live in the Scottish Highlands and Islands. Ordered the multipurpose playtable which holds itself out as durable and at £200 it is not a cheap option. One small spill from an aqua doodle pen later and the top is peeling. I complained and they said - we never said it was waterproof. So a durable child's play table cannot stand being played on with an aqua doodle. Totally shoddy product and appalling customer service. But quality very poor, the embroidery is difficult to read and threads loose. Some felt pens no lids attached, so pen dried up. Cheap felt pens type cost 49 p in cheap shop.. Poor quality for £18. My wife purchased a unit and bookshelf (L1600) cost was £163 ..For this price you would assume such small book shelf would be robust and fit snugly when assembled. During assembly one of the cam lock nuts snapped. For £163 not a single spare was provided. On calling none could be provided. I eventually sourced a spare. We have bought a number of items from GLTC over the past few years. Recently the quality of some of the items has dropped considerably and they don't stand up well to normal wear and tear from children playing or they have been delivered broken. GLCT state that they will delivery between 3-5 working days. This statement should be removed from their website as they clearly cannot achieve this marker. After waiting 20 minutes on the telephone to speak to customer services, I was informed that there was a problem with the courier service and I was likely to receive the goods in further weeks time. We were bought a garden storage bench as a present, had all sorts of nightmares with the delivery so we eventually had to take a day off work to sort it out. When the product arrived bits of the wood inside had been snapped. What a saga! Late delivery (several weeks) was blamed on GLTC's courier company (but GLTC point bank refused to chase the couriers or give me a number to do it). I really couldn't be bothered complaining at the time and just left it however a screw came loose and went missing whilst my child was using it. Whilst I am pleased with the quality of the items that I've received i'm not happy with the appalling distribution system this companys appears to have. Singluar worst retail experience in my 8 years of living in the UK. Order placed in May, not completely fulfilled until December - when they sent two of the missing part by mistake. Had to call 6 or 7 times to get the payment processed - something went wrong on their end each time and I was told a manager would call me back... I could not agree more with the terrible reviews of GLTC - just wish I had looked on this site before I ordered from them!
I spent £425 on the Anchorage bunk beds and they only delivered one of the underbed storage drawers. This was in April. I have called them so many times and all they can say is they don't know when they will deliver they other one. I am so angry about having paid for a product that I now seem unlikely to ever receive.

the play kitchen come today and it was most of the wood was broke so it look like that got go back now
