The Cotswold Company is under new management since January 2010, and has set about revamping all aspects of its service. A newly designed, feature-packed website has been launched (www.cotswoldco.com), where you will find all of Cotswold Company products alongside some new additions.

I have made 3 separate purchases over the last 6 months and each one has involved having to contact customer services over either failed delivery date promises or a defect with the item. Getting a response from them is impossible until I contacted the CEO but that was on the 2nd occasion and by the 3rd the poor level of communication has reverted back! First alarm bells rang when the time I was told they would deliver was neither suitable or changeable without additional cost. Then the product arrived. It has a dire chemical smell which for bedroom furniture is not acceptable! The draws don't fit, don't glide, stick, the paint job is patchy, there were bits missing and to be honest I totally regret buying this product and will be shocked it it lasts. Total waste of money!! I am unable to give a positive review as I feel let down and very disappointed. Upon placing my order I was informed that it would be unavailable for dispatch for two months, this was undesirable but agreeable and expected before Christmas. It was only a month and a half later that I was then informed that it would not be delivered before the new year in the middle of January. I've this site a number of times now and haven't had a bad experience with them yet. It very easy to navigate the site to find what you're looking for and there are loads of interesting other ideas that are showcased for impulse. It's mainly high end furniture so don't expect it to cheap, but if you're looking for items that won't fall apart then they offer really great value for money and I'll continue going back! More consistent information about similar items would be helpful - I was looking for a chest of drawers and the details in the additional information section seemed rather arbitrary. When our shelving unit finally arrived 1 month late, one of the fixing brackets was missing and several screws were missing from the back panel. Their solution was to send us the parts so we could finish building it ourselves which is not exactly the service for which we paid. Sideboard was ordered to match a bookcase ordered a couple of years ago. Item arrived damaged with marks on top as had been stored upside down. The sides of both drawers were cracked. The cream painted finish only refers to the outside. The inside is completely rough, bare wood. The top of the drawer fronts are only half painted so that if not fully shut the half painted area is visible. This Company looks a decent company I ordered a Miri Chest of Draws which I was told previously were sold out. On browsing the Site by Accident I saw the Draws back in Stock this was after I was told they will not be on this site again. I left my details in case someone sent back. However, TCC employs the services of a very out of date courier - for a parcel to be delivered to the Aberdeen area, on top of the £4.95 standard fee, there is an additional £25 area surcharge!!! My goods would have cost £55 with shipping of £30 - a little disproportionate don't you think!
