Bad Points: Delivery service!!!
General comments: I was very disappointed with Debenhams Direct. I ordered 5 items online on 1st july 2008 which I then received an email stating the items were in stock and would be delivered in 5 days. They also debited the money from my account.
I phoned them again today (17th July) this being the 3rd time and was told that the order must have got lost. I then had the option of re-ordering the items, which I agreed to. Then was told that most of the items were out of stock now! So agreed to a refund.

I've shopped with them for about 3 years now and have not had any real problems that have not been sorted very quickly and efficiently. I would always recommend shopping with Debenhams Direct.

I think Debenhams Direct have an unhelpful service which is not at all logical. I waited 2 weeks for a skirt which failed to arrive and I was given 3 different answers as to where it was whenever I called customer service. The skirt never arrived in time for the ball, and I was informed the day before it was actually out of stock. Ordered bedroom furniture from Debenhams online, got order confirmation via email but estimated delivery date was blank. During the order process online had displayed 6-8 week delivery time which was acceptable. I had to call Debenhams three times to have my item returned (it took over a month), and I waited another month for a reimbursement to my account. I am utterly shocked by their shoddy service.

Designers clothes arrived damaged, took 3 weeks to deliver, didn't collected damaged clothes, therefore returned in post. Big hassle, 7 days to repy to e-mail, took money from credit card on day of order but took 7 weeks to get refund. No way of knowing how delivery was progressing. Very bad customer service as they had no information and were ineffective. Not recommended.

We ordered a metal frame sofa bed from Debenhams Direct in July 2007. The sofa bed was supposed to be delivered in two weeks, but after two weeks nothing had arrived, so we phoned Debenhams.

I ordered a white bathroom cupboard from Debenhams Direct to match a linen basket bought from the store in the same range, but when it came it was grey!! I must be one of the lucky ones, because I did get through to UK customer services, but unfortunately she didn't seem to think there was much of a problem with that. I have sent it back, but 2 weeks later there is still no sign of a refund (the money went out of my account on the same day - no surprises there).

Ordered online. Received email confirmation of order. But when called mid week to find out status of order was told it was cancelled becuase bill to address on my credit card didn't match ship to. No communication from Debenham's re this. They had both my tel # & email address - that's what I call good customer service!!!

Debenhams direct is not prepared for online shopping. They don't process your order if your ship to, and bill to address don't match. Yet they don't tell customers that on the website. Moreover, they ask for your telephone number an emaill address, but don't use it to contact you, regarding the bill to and ship to discrepancy. And when you call them, they make it out as your fault, you should have known. Pathetic communications and pathetic service.

We ordered the Max leather sofa in July from Debenhams Direct. we were told we would be contacted in 8 weeks to organise delivery. 8 weeks went past I called them to see what was going on. They told me that there was a shortage of material (not enough cows) we were given another date.
To cut the story short on the 15th week we finally took delivery of the sofa.

Waited ages for an item ordered from the Debenhams Direct Catalogue for a special occasion.
I ended up having to go into Debenhams in Oxford Street to get this item.
I had to push for a refund.
Debenhams Direct are the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Debenhams Direct - They are obviously aware of how awful their service is as they refuse to give out their customer services number - you have to go via Debenhams themselves.
We have been waiting 6 weeks for 2 items which we asked to be delivered - one of them is a suitcase for our honeymooon - and we are leaving on Saturday.
The WORST mail order service I have ever encountered. I would NEVER recommend this service to anyone.

Debenhams Direct staff are VERY unhelpful!!! Though, they seem keen to help you make the order but that is as far as it goes.
After waiting 4 weeks for an order that was meant to take 10 days, we have been promised investigation and call backs to no avail. Yet the payment went from the card almost immediately. Watch out.
