Easy to drive cheep to run even in todays hight fuel price, and very easy to clean and keep nice. Hmmm where to start, I've had to have the headlights changed due to melting, I've also had to have the gearbox changed at ONLY 37,000 and its had a new clutch to boot. But all in all I wouldn't change it, it still drives well and for a standard car she does all thats asked, and asks very little in the way of oil, water and so on.

I have recently bought a second hand Almera S1.5 on a 52 plate. I have just had to replace the battery in the key which is only used to lock and unlock the doors. No immobiliser or alarm. The cost? - £1.90 for the battery and £45.08 to re-initialise the key. FORTY FIVE QUID!
Needless to say I no longer have remote locking.

Jonmartin's Response to jonmartin's Review

So since the key episode. I've had to have the aerial replaced (under warranty) so the radio would work properly. On 6/2/06 the engine light came on. Just a few days after the warranty expired (coincidence ?) So back to the dealer. Evidently the engine management system had adjusted the mixer to lean, for no reason. Cost £76 to put right. So today 18/03/06 the engine light has come on again. So it's back to the dealer on friday to find out what's wrong this time. I will update then. Meanwhile, once this new problem is fixed, this car will be got rid of. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE.

Jonmartin's Response to jonmartin's Review

Written on: 24/03/2006

The cause for the engine light coming on for the second time, has been determined as a faulty 'heated oxygen sensor' £110 to replace. And also just to add insult to injury, the nissan dealer has said I need to replace the 'off side front headlight' as it is dim (?) on dip £131 to replace. All this on a 3 year old car. This seems a bit odd as the car has just had its first MOT with no problems. Luckily the dealer where I bought the car (not a nissan dealer) will take the car in part exchange, with the faults. So I'm getting rid of this Nissan Almera. And never will nissan darken my doors again. COMPLETE RUBBISH !!!
