Good Points: Lovely setting. Comfortable well equipped houses with stunning views if you are lucky. Very well maintained grounds, aqua-park and buildings - all very clean. Lots to do in the area for children and teenagers. Near to great beaches, restaurants and shops. Lovely to be able to ditch the car and cycle everywhere on cycle paths.

Bad Points: Not enough staff at reception on check in days so that took ages queuing in the heat - just what you need after a journey. Not enough staff in the bar so service for food and drink was poor. The staff could be a bit rude sometimes as they seemed stressed. Don't eat on-site - there are plenty of good quality restaurants 5 minutes away. On-site shop had very limited selection. Don't lose a key - they charge 50E to replace it! Specify when booking, if you can, that you would like a view of golf course or lake or you may end up looking at a bit of scrubby bush in the shade!

General comments: Overall a great place - we had a lovely holiday helped by the weather. So much to do if you like activities like golf, swimming, high assault courses in the trees (off-site), local markets, cycling or just reading a book outside your villa in the peaceful surroundings - plus it's not far from Calais so as long as you don't get stuck in the Channel, an easy journey!

With my wife and my young family, we had the pleasure of spending a couple of days at Belle Dune Apartment in October. The weather was glorious; the 6-berth house that we rented in France was perfect. The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen and lounge gave out onto the lake, a vast garden which led directly to the lake - the kids loved it. Above all, they adored the aquaclub and the outdoor play area... There is an on-site mini-market which has everything you need to feed the family, and the ...

Last Summer we all went to Belle Dune. There were five of us and the ages of the children ranged from 7 to 13. The kids loved the place. They loved the swimming pools and the waves in the indoor pool must be the best that I have ever seen. The houses in their pastel colours made the site look really attractive. There was plenty to do in the surrounding areas but we only made it out of the site on one occasion as the kids were so happy in the swimming pools. There was not a lot to do in the ...

I stayed at Belle Dune Apartment last summer with my husband and just 16 year old son. Most visitors are French, with a smattering of German and English. Staff spoke just enough English so we could understand each other and enjoy the facilities. We booked a two bedroom second/third floor apartment (lakeside houses also available)sleeping 6 and on two floors. The furnishings were very stylish with a large fully furnished balcony off the living room with a view of the piazza and the surrounding fo ...
