I have used ESET NOD 32 since 2007 with no problem. On renewing it I upgraded to version 6x, and with it my problems arrived. The system started to freeze without further notice. As I could not tell any reason for that (such as using a given software, heating, etc), I contacted the support. The answer was to uninstall and reinstall, which I did twice, with no results. A new contact had the same reply, so I decided to remove it and replace by avast. It finally solved the problem, although... (read more)

I have used Eset Nod32 for many years (since version 2) now and it has gotten better every year. It runs with the minimum of computer resources and never fails to stop a virus from infiltrating my system.
I am what would be classified as a 'power user' and I only buy the anti-virus edition. The only time I ever notice it is when a virus attempts to take hold on my laptop. I find that in conjunction with no-script for Firefox they both give me unrivaled protection for my web browsing...

It is a very efficient programme. Runs quietly in the background. I bough it 3 years ago and then every year after. I recommend you to buy the whole package (Security Smart Software) rather then the antivirus on its own. In the last 3 years I had only one issue with this software,.... when I had to download the 4th version and the programme have not notified me about this option. if you have an older PC read this. I have just installed ESET NOD 32 on my 7 year old Toshiba satellite pro and it is proving a real winner. After being plagued by very slow processing, a 20 minute start up time, and the bulk of my 1 GB of RAM being consumed by Norton 360 and before that Mcafee, ESET is a real fresh of breath air.

I used to use Norton and that was great until is expanded and became bloatware which took over my machine, grinding it to a halt, hangs etc. As yup it was Norton as everything sped up once gone.
I then swapped to free AV solutions as I was put off paid AV from my Norton experience, after using various solutions I stuck with AVG free and was fairly happy with it.
My friend recommended this NOD32 thing from this unheard of company ESET and was like, what is this?

I've bought Nod32 for 40$ for 1 year but with NOD32 I've got big problems!
Internet Explorer isn't working with NOD32!!! And my ISP informed me that this is not seldom but 'Usual Problem' with NOD32. And local'Help' of ESET company didn't help me! For this reason I stoped using NOD32 (so my 40$ will be a gift to ESET Company) and start to use AVG free antivirus.

I don't know about this mate, I installed NOD32 on over 350 PC's in my company since Windows 98 and I've never seen or heard of a problem using Internet Explorer and NOD. Only thing I can suggest is that there was 3rd party software causing the problems. I think that guy from your ISP was just telling you what you wanted to hear!

The best software I have ever bought. i did not even think twice when I went to the store to get myself the Business edition for the server. The Anti-virus has made my PC totally virus free and the great thing is that it does not allow Trojans to establish ports on my system. It regards a bot as a virus. With this, my PC is ultimately secure and I would cherish it. I have 4 more months for the subscription to end and I would even regret about extending the subscription! Must Buy! (read more)

I'm not sure how big they are but whenever you communicate with them they come across as a small company. They really care.
I've had a couple of problems with the software (running on 5 machines) and they are always resolved quickly and efficiently.
It's a tiny little programme so certainly won't drain resources.

I tried the NOD x1 month free download, which is JUST anti-virus ('AV') but not a firewall as well. I wanted both, because M/soft's firewall isn't reliable. I liked the NOD prog, because it was so unobtrusive, --sitting quietly in the corner doing it's stuff, and the download of updates was also very discrete. nod-32 is a supercool powerful antivirus software, i would like to see its user interface improved so that it gives pleasant feeling to the viewers, this software is super effective in removing hard to clean virusses, on the disadvantage part this software is lil costly, but i wouldnt mind spending money for this super cool soft, they need to improve their virus signatures

I used my Eset NOD 32 A.V. for only 2 months and have to replaced it with Kaspersky. The performance and quality of scan is good but I noticed that it is slowing my P.C.. I guess the resources it needed to run was quite huge that it slowed my system.
Else, this A.V. performed quite well, nothing to complain about that, just it's toll on my PC resources. That's all.

Eset NOD32 has long been one of the best AVs on the market but there used to be questions about ease of use - it was regarded as a pro's tool. Version4 has dealt with this and it's now very easy. (read more)

I have used Eset NOD32 for approx 5 yrs now and have always been happy with it but NOT now, reason - 3 weeks BEFORE my registration key expired they CEASED my Anti Virus protection!! Yes, up popped a box stating my PC was NO LONGER PROTECTED! I tried to cancel this but it popped up again and again and again and upon checking my AV I found out it was no longer protecting my Computer. I used NOD32 for 2 years and never once in that time did I have a problem with viruses. However, when I came to renew my license for the third time I found it impossible to do. The web site would not accept my username and password.
I phoned ESET in the USA, UK and Dubai. Every time I was given things to try but to no avail. The representative in Dubai suggested that I purchase the software again from scratch. For me I see no reason why I should pay more for software that I already have...

Eset NOD32 is one of the best antivirus prog , which is light , dosen't even affect abit of my startup and shutdown , but uses around 44mb of RAM for me, which i think is OK for 1gb+ ram but i only have 512mb of RAM . but internet still working good :) (read more)

Great protection, and in a different ball park to Norton/Mcafee, Eset NOD32 also uses a small amount of your Pc's resourses. Its good to feel protected when surfing the Net with the Security Suite. I use ESET smart security. First I used AVAST! It was lousy, gave so many false positives & could not protect me. I had to format. Next I installed threatfire for on access scanning & bitdefender free for on demand scanning. It slowed down my PC.
Then I heard about ESET NOD32 from a friend. He was a computer geek & told me some features in tech languages I didn't understand. Anyway, I went for ESET smart security as it gives antivirus, antispyware, antispam & firewall.
I am now protected!

Used for 4 years no problems (if updated daily)
1-If the license expired and you tried to update, a message of "no need to update, the program has the latest updates" appears!!! Even you have not updated for one year!!! Again this only appears if your license expired or your trial period expired.
2-It is not free :-(
I strongly recommend Nod32 antivirus.

Great Security program and does not eat system resources.
The only thng that I do not like is that in latest version 3.0 it seems to affect some games while playing them.
Even by disabling this antivirus for some reason it still works in the System background causing problems while playing.

I love this antivirus. Best one on the market IMHO. No huge splash screens, no annoying notices or bothersome pop ups - it just works. Period. I've been using it for three years or more and will never use another.

Ultimately, your computer will be 100% safe if you don't, or can't, do anything with it. McAfee and Windows OneCare (the two AV packages I have used), seem to take the approach of making your system nearly unusable as an approach to safe computing. ESET rocks! I am a computer programmer, so my computer is my livelihood. I am thrilled to have my expensive computing hardware available to me again for doing real work! (read more)

Not only does this AV system score very highly, when combined within ESET's Smart Security package this becomes a very unobtrusive, yet powerful defensive system. Intuitive for those who have some knowledge of both systems and threats it is designed for the Intermediate+ level of user but this does not detract from its overall score. (read more)

All the above and more, I remove Viruses and Malware for a living and have never had any infections on any of my many everyday machines using Eset Nod32, a must have programme!.
