We've got three of the Otters - bought to get us on the water whilst I built a wooden Canadian canoe. They have been great, very comfortable, easy to use and perfect for absolute novices and experienced paddlers alike. I would heartily recommend them to anyone who wants a simple, low-cost canoe to use on flat water or slow moving water. (read more)

I mostly use the Old Town Otter Kayak for open, non-flowing water but is also great for creek floating with quick water flow. Small rapids not a problem but you wouldn't want to use it on anything over class 2 or 3 rapids mostly because of length and lack of foot pegs. Can hold a lot of gear in nose and behind seat so it's perfect for camping. Great kayak for beginners and even moderately skilled kayakers who want to steer clear of large rapids. (read more)
