Good Points: The discovery is nearly indestructible and less expensive than Royalex models
Bad Points: Heavy heavy heavy, next opportunity I have ($$$) I will spring for a Royalex or Royalex lite canoe. The difference in cost will be quickly made up through less frequent visits to the Chiropractor.
General comments: The Old Town Discovery is an adequate recreational canoe for a first canoe. The Discovery's are heavy! It will take a good beating and come back for more. Check out Mohawk canoes made in Florida, they look to me to be a better canoe, and better bargain all round.
