When we were last there 3 years ago at the El Passo Hotel! The hotel was lovely but the reception staff. It will not stop me going back to this complex, it is wonderful for the children!- Read Guest's review (39 words)

We have just returned from this hotel 08 10 08 overall it was a nice hotel apart from the couple of bad points I have listed. We were a bit disappointed with our room as on our arrival we asked if there was an upgrade available the reception told us all rooms were the same but in my opinion they are NOT. We were on the top floor of the main hotel with no balcony just a window that opened completely which I thought was really dangerous. We took our two youngest boys who are 10 and 13 and I was te ...- Read richangel's review (406 words)

Overall my stay was great. One little point to make is the lifts, they get pretty congested at times because of the sheer number of people wanting to use them. This is because the staircase at the side of the hotel is used as an exit one. and you can't access it from the outside, unless someone leaves the door open. The female staff at the reception desk were very helpful.

Had great time in hotel El Paso and parks. Beach club was great. Food good. Kids enjoyed so much that they want me to book again. Been to Orlando; with just 2 hour flight I enjoyed this just as much.- Read Guest's review (57 words)

Food was 95% of the same, not what you would expect to have when to pay to go half board in a 4*hotel. The bar staff were not friendly enough. I was not served for 15-25 minutes (not a one off).
Dinner food was cold sometimes.- Read shazas's review (71 words and 1 comment)

This was an A* holiday. Absolutely everything was good, hotel clean, bed linen changed daily, amazing choice of hot and cold food, delightful happy staff, very helpful First Choice team who organised two trips (Barcelona footie stadium and coastal tour by boat).- Read turbomummy's review (45 words)

Hotel was informative, clean, fabulous location, wonderful facilities. I would recommend anyone wanting to maximise their holiday with visits to Theme Park and the wonderful Caribe Water Park to stay at El Paso. Had no involvement with Rep, does not seem to be any requirement for a rep at this hotel.- Read happybun's review (179 words)

Our flight was at 5am, which meant we had to leave our house at 2am in order to get to the Airport in plenty of time.
When we arrived at Salou airport I noticed on the reps clip board that the party number was listed at 3 and not 4 i.e. My 1 year old was not included on the booking numbers? Didn't think this would cause a problem?
We arrived at the Hotel around 9:45am to be told that check in was not until 3pm!
If I had to have know this when we were making our booking I would not have gon ...- Read ballinvalley's review (816 words)

We visited Hotel El Paso, Universal Port Aventura Complex in June 2007, and were so impressed, came back and rebooked for the same week this year. When the kids are happy abroad then so are we. Last year we spent only £200 in spending money on top of our package price. The holiday was great value, the hotel was immaculate, as was the theme park and the water park. I would highly recommend this hotel (we did look round the other two at the resort but felt that this one was the most impressi ...- Read Guest's review (180 words)

I would suggest everyone read the other reviews on this site. They are not gripes or moans but true statements about this resort.
It is not a bad resort, but it is NOT 4 star by English standards. I spent time reading the reviews before I left and took ear plugs, it was the BEST thing we did. The noise was unbelievable, and our visit was at low season. I eventually rigged up the balcony door with my belt so it would be open by half an inch at night to get some ventilation into the room.
There is ...- Read doccy's review (913 words)

I thought that the staff were very friendly, and the view was magnificent. I enjoyed the rooms, and the outside view. The place was very modern and up to date, and there was a lot for me and my friends to keep us entertained, from the beach to the internet cafe when the park was not open. However, there were a few bad points. A group of people were insisting of breaking the rules, and started to smoke in the corridors so it was quite unpleasent. When it came to the breakfast buffet, some of the ...- Read cpdavis's review (122 words)

We have been to Port Aventura three times and to be honest the jury is still out on this hotel. I think I can only basis my rating on whether or not I would recommend to close friends and if I am honest, no. On the basis of the food, which is such a big part of most people's holiday, I lost over half a stone as I ate so little. On reflection this seems a little unfair as there were so many good things and the hotel was beautiful. But it only had the potential to be excellent, such a shame, hope ...- Read teuluthomas's review (267 words)

Hotel El Paso is a great hotel, great holiday, wonderful gardens, swimming pool and Theme Park. Children are looked after by the children's club and Mini Disco is fantastic. Entertainment for all in the evening, very good groups booked - a must see!
Buses into Salou, which you could walk to. Easy access to buses to Tarragona, Barcelona.
My Mother being a wonderful Italian cook, said that the food was very good and you could always find lot's of things to eat and it was to a very high ...- Read Sandy Burnage's review (338 words)

If you decide to go to Hotel El Paso, I would seriously not recommend going in September as you can tell that they are close to the end of the season because the rooms were filthy, from mould on the bathroom tiles, to god knows what kind of muck was wiped on the walls! Probably one the worst hotels I've stayed in but it is situated in one of the best locations to get to the park (less than 5 minutes walk).- Read xxsc01xx's review (125 words and 1 comment)

We think Hotel El Paso is a lovely place and you don't have to travel far to get to Salou or Cambrils. The theme park is just a short walk and also the water park. The courtesy bus was more reliable when we wanted to go back to the hotel from the beach club. We think the food was even better than in 2003 and everyone seemed to enjoy the pancakes for breakfast!!- Read MG2's review (295 words)

I wish that i had read the reviews before i booked. The staff at the hotel, cleaners and restaurant staff are 1st class very hard working people and i hope they get paid well. Its the management and holiday reps that let this complex down. Please, please, make FIRST CHOICE YOUR LAST CHOICE if booking. If you are going away for entertainment on an evening, save your brass and go to Butlins, its very repetitive as is the food at the hotel, and basically rubbish!! Park is open until midnight d ...- Read hotelelpaso's review (391 words and 1 comment)

This hotel was the best hotel I have stayed at for a long time. Reception staff were very helpful. Bar staff were very slow, part of this can be put down to language barrier, as it is not a hotel only for Brits.
Rooms were very clean and the maid made the bed every day. We had a cot in the room which fitted nicely between the wall and the bed. The room has a TV which has BBC1 and 2. We never watched the entertainment much as we were in the park until midnight every night!! We went HB. Breakfast ...- Read leeanncarmichael's review (220 words)
