Have own one of these for 10 years and its been an absolute nightmare, the drawers jam due to ice build up then when you apply force to remove them the fronts break off as the plastic is too brittle when cold. Replacements drawers cost £25 each that's £75 a set! Ended up making wooden fronts and bolted them on have now given up and ordered a new freezer!!!

I've owned the freezer for a few years now and have only ever had to defrost it twice! I can't understand why everyone is having trouble with these freezers frosting up after 2 weeks! I can only imagine they have them set too cold for what they have in the freezer. There are 5 settings for the temperature and my freezer is full and set at 2.5, all food is frozen and no ice buildup ever. The fast freeze is a good function to have if you ever need it after defrosting, and to be completely honest I have no faults to report with it, maybe I'm lucky.

I agree with the other reviews, the top shelf of the Hotpoint RZA30 frosts over in a few days and gets so bad that the door won't close, the freezer still looks great after nearly 6 years but it's going in the bin very soon, just a pain and messy to defrost.

Handy little freezer. Needs defrosting every 2 weeks which i think is stupid. Would not recommend this freezer to any one

Frost starts to build up unevenly on the Hotpoint RZA30, particularly on top shelf 2 weeks after a full defrost, & if I followed manufacturer's guidelines for when it needs defrosting, the freezer would need defrosting every 3 weeks. It's not a frost free freezer but this is just silly.
When I emailed this to Hotpoint they kept giving me advice that was already in my instruction book & never offered me an explanation for why this might be happening. I've not heard from them since I said I would not be recommending their appliances to anyone else.

Oh bother - wish I had seen this review first, but then again the freezer was free with the flat.

<br>I have exactly the same problem frost build up in top shelf is excessive. No one in right mind would expect to defrost every 3 weeks. Hotpoint sort it out.
