We had a fantastic family day out. All the staff we met were exceptionally kind, friendly and helpful - they chatted to the children and offered to help in any way they could. I can honestly say I could not fault the staff so don't be put off by the bad reviews on here. There was plenty to do both inside and outdoors for our children(age 1,5 and 6). We loved it and would definitely go back again. We paid for the deal that included lucnh which was better value than buying food inside the... (read more)

We planned to take our kids (girls aged 6 and 9) for a day out as a treat for recent fantastic behaviour during difficult circumstances. We decided to try Gullivers Kingdom Matlock Bath as it is not too far from home (Sheffield) and we hadn't been as a family before. I have to say, we were a little worried on reading some of the reviews here, but we decided that we couldn't face a long journey elsewhere to try another theme park, and that the negative issues raised in some of the reviews... We took a group of kids to gulivers kingdom in matlock and it was terrible. i myself have been to many theme parks but not to one as bad as this. to get to the car park you have to drive up a steep hill, oncing in side the rides looks okay and queqing is little what was good, the rides attenders where very rude and dirty faced. after every ride i went on i said thank you and showed my respect to be given a dirty look and rudeness, to be honest only one man said thank you and that was the... DO NOT GOP to Gullivers Kingdom if you value your money, time & childrens happiness The park is grubby, run down and badly run and whats worth the staff are so rude, lazy & incompetent I have taken a group of 12 to many theme parks and have never ever been treated so badly by anyone as the staff including the Manager Brandon Neal. The staff refuse to accept any complaint, refuse to give the company head office details, refuse to do anything The staff is SO UNDERSTAFFED that ride times... (read more)

Took our 2 grandkids to Gullivers Kingdom at Matlock Bath. Grandson is 4 and Grand-daughter 1. Had a fantastic time. The reviews are right it is very hilly with some very steep parts but it was well worth it. The views are spectacular from the chair-lifts, the rides are all great for the kids - don't bother if your kids are over 12 as they will feel the rides are too tame. The staff were very helpful and the queues were non existent. The longest wait we had was around 2 minutes. Overall... (read more)

Went to gullivers last friday and had a great day out, value for money as it only cost £49.00 for 2 adults and 2 children. It did rain on and off all day but all the rides were still working, all i will say is wear flat shoes as the park is quite spaced out with plenty of slopes to walk up and down. The park is set in a beautiful area and the views are amazing especially when you go on the chair lifts,as for the staff they couldnt of been more helpful or enthusiastic and made such a fuss of my 2... We visited Gullivers at Matlock Bath with some trepidation, having read the reviews. It turned out to be a wonderful day out, the perfect place to take the grandchildren. Our party included myself (grandad), grandma, father, mother, three children 3years,5years and 7years.It was a beautiful sunny day not too crowded and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It is a bit hilly but that wasn't a problem even though I'm getting on a bit
would recommend it as value for money.

We took our daughter for her 9th birthday with our other 4 kids aged from 2 to 14 & our daughters friend, The weather was lovely which helped but we had a fantastic day out, surrounded by beautiful countryside, yes it is very hilly & not for the elderly or anyone with walking problems but there was a variety of rides which we hardly had to que for at all & plenty of choice for lunch & clean facilities, we took a picnic & were given beakers for our drinks as we had forgotten ours at no cost.... Went to the park on a bank holiday Monday with 4 and 8 year olds . Though the park was busy we never really had to wait very long for any of the rides. Park is very hilly and a bit shabby in places, a cople of the rides could do with replacing (they were rubbish) but there was a good general mix for children under 10.
Staff were fine certainly no worse than any at other theme parks we've been to it all depends on your expectations!

I dont understand the negative posts on here. There was 10 of us, 6 children aged between 4 and 11 and we all had a great time. Yes it hasnt got the biggest or best rides but we didnt Q for for than 5 mins for anything So we went on every single ride there was and some the kinds went on over 7 times. This park is for children and yes its on a hill but all the kids coped and loved it. Overall a great day out (and for £8.50 each as we used vouchers)you cant go wrong. (read more)

Gullivers Kingdom is a poor attraction, very disapointed. i went there as a child 20 years ago and nothing has changed, not even a fresh lick of paint. in need of major clean up and refurbishment. wasps were everywhere in drink dispensers and food preperation areas. my 4 year old did enjoy the rides but could not go on most because my two year old could not go on or there was a one adult to one child ratio so i payed for her to go on 50% of what we were told she could ride on. and at £11.50... Gulliver's Kingdom Matlock - Poor, Poor Poor value - place was very rundown. Thousands of wasps. Site extremely steep - you would really struggle with a pushchair or pram. Food outlets poor - wasps crawling over everything - up the drink dispensers, in the ice cream sprinkles and nothing was being done about it!! We tried a pizza - it was a frozen one reheated and was burnt - tasted rubbish and stodgy. Rides mainly for under 5's, nothing much for older children not bothered about roller... (read more)

I'm afraid we thought that the Gullivers Kingdom park was in need of a major refurb. The site was dirty and the quality of the site was poor. There were thousands of wasps and 4 of our party of 7 were stung. I would not recommend this park for a day out. I am sure there are better places to take the children. (read more)

I have just read the reviews that some people have left and I wonder whether we are talking about the same place?
I found the whole thing to be a complete nightmare at gullivers kingdom. The hills were awful - completely out of the question for people with a disability, the elderly or anyone with a pushchair and young children.
There were scary mannequins all over the place that reminded me of the horror film House of Wax! They scared our two year old to death and she wouldn't get on a...

Gulliver's Kingdom is the best theme park that I have ever been to that offers great enjoyment for any one. It is best for 2 to 13 year olds as there are no major rides for thrill seekers. I would definately go there again, in fact i am going there tomorrow. I would go more often but I live In Nuneaton so it takes i while to get there however it is worth it! We took our 2 and a half year old to Gullivers today (bank hol mon) and were really really impressed. We didn't have to queue up for more than 5min for a ride and our daughter was tall enough (90cm) for most rides. She loved the Parks characters who stopped and allowed (free) photos. This place is ideal for toddlers - primary school age, there is so much to do including sand pits, indoor and outdoor play areas, climbing walls, rides, and is generally in a beautiful location, there is plenty...

I read some of the previous reviews of Gullivers Kingdom and set of for our day out with a little apprehension, however we had a fantastic day! my two children (just 3 and 5) absolutely loved it. Even the little one could go on almost everything. The park seems to have had a lick of paint recently and the staff are outstanding- can't do enough to help.

Overall we had a good day, however this park had an air of old-age and neglect. All of the rides were operational the day we went, although some were not fully functional. For example, Silver Mine Ride was a shoot-em-up, supposedly new for 2008, where the laser guns were not working and so we just had a short, dark ride round in a circle. Personally, I'm not sure the guns working would have made that much difference, but at least you have had something to fill the time with! (read more)

A great park for youngsters and adults can go on the majority of the rides with them. Going when the park is quieter is better as there is less queuing - we went on everything at least twice! Adrenaline junkies will be disappointed but it's about all I could stand to take my kids on as they are not yet old enough to go on most rides alone (9 and 7). I prefer Gullivers Kingdom at Matlock Bath as it is more compact but still all the rides and facilties. Gullivers World at Warrington is... (read more)

I used to love going to Gulliver's Kingdom when I was younger. My mum and dad used to make it a yearly thing to take me and my brothers, and we always had a fun day out!
My most memorable moment was the playing card maze. You work your way into the middle of the maze, and when you get to the middle you can stand up and look around and see everything, and after getting into it I couldn't get out, and my dad had to direct me out! Haha
I also like going on the pedal bikes which are above...

Gulivers Kingdom is situated above the Victorian Spa resort of Matlock Bath on the sides of a steep valley, which makes getting around with a pushchair and young children quite difficult in places. The theme at Gullivers is small, as is the park. Some of the rides have really had their day and probably should be scrapped. If you go to Gullivers with really low expectations, you may be pleasantly surprised. However, if you're expecting anything like Alton Towers or The American Adventure,... (read more)

Gullivers Kingdom in Matlock Bath is great fun, and it can take up a full day. It is however geared towards younger children. We have been twice (summer 2004 and summer 2005) because our kids loved it so much. The park rises in stages on the side of a hill, and therefore has a lot of steep slopes to negotiate, and pushing a buggy and toddler up some is really hard going! Its position on the hill makes it a struggle sometimes to get around, but it also kind of adds to its charm, as there are... (read more)
