Hoover used to be the number one brand for vacuum cleaners. The DM4470 model is alright but is bringing the name of Hoover down. It does what it is supposed to do but that is all. It is described as lightweight but is not easy to carry. It has been designed for prettyness but not durability. If you are looking for a mid priced vacuum cleaner for occasional work without stairs and are prepared occasionally for a minor repair then this is worth considering. (read more)

My family have been loyal Hoover customers for a number of years. The old style Hoover Junior gave us many years of workhorse usage.
Since then we have tried a number of other brands and felt let down. We returned to the Hoover fold with the DM4470. I wish that we hadn't bothered. It's been a disaster from about two months use. Please Hoover come up with a stylish basic model that does the job, and as for it being a lightweight model... Dream on!!!

As a long standing user of Hoover hoovers! I thought that buying the new DM 4470 bagless dustmanager would be a good bet, within a week of having the machine it's design flaws show through, the container inside leaks far too much of the content into the pre motor filet, this gives up and allows the dust and debris to get through the motor housing into the rear hepa filter which gives up and your house end up being re decorated with redistributed dust, great considering one of the main reason...
